Drake Embraces His Jewishness

Young Money star Drake's "HYFR" music video has a bar mitzvah theme, and the half-Jewish rapper says that he wants to celebrate his faith. Drizzy admits that he didn't have a proper bar mitzvah as a kid and wanted to throw himself a better one now that he can afford it.
"I'm really celebrating my religion," Drake said. "I'm proud, a proud young Jewish boy. So, when I had a bar mitzvah back in the day, my mom really didn't really have that much money. We kinda just did it in the basement of an Italian restaurant, which I guess is kinda like a faux pas. I told myself that if I ever got rich, I'd throw myself a re-bar mitzvah. That's the concept for the video. Myself, obviously, the CEO, the boss, Weezy and the Birdman."

Nicki Minaj Headlining Tour In 2012

Nicki Minaj Headlining Tour In 2012
Nicki Minaj has been affiliated with some of the hottest tours of 2010, having hit the road with Lil Wayne and Britney Spears, but the Young Money starlet has announced that she plans to headline her own tour in 2012. She said she is using her time with Spears, in particular, to help spur her planning of her forthcoming Pink Friday Tour.
"I’m sure there are so many things I’m going to learn just by watching her," said Nicki said of touring with Britney Spears. "Next year, I’ll be headlining my own tour so this is my time to be a student and to learn and to absorb all of this information and then take that knowledge and create an amazing Pink Friday Tour at the top of 2012."
"I’m honored to be out with Britney," Minaj told UsMagazine. "She’s freakin’ paved the way for pop culture. I’m excited. We are in talks to hit the stage together but that is up to her. I would love to, of course. If we do something on tour, it will probably be the ['Till the World Ends'] remix."

Birdman Outlasted His Competitors

Birdman Outlasted His Competitors
Brian "Birdman" Williams took a moment to marvel at Cash Money's staying power in a recent interview with XXL magazine. The Cash Money founder has noticed that many of the rappers and labels that were there when he began has journey have come and gone in the many years since.
"When I look around, through my years and my time, you know, the game, it was a lot in the field, a lot of people doing it," he says. "And I look around, and it's like, where the f*ck did everybody go? I ain't never understood that, but the game like that sometimes, that muthaf*cka's gon' keep ya or it's gon' leave ya. It's all on you."
Baby also discussed Wayne's growth as a businessman with Young Money.
"Honestly, I gave him the floor," Baby says of Weezy. "He wanted it. I been with him since he was seven years old, eight years old. I been in his life all of his life, and he was like, "Let me handle, it." At the time, me as an artist, losing my sister and everything I was going through personally, I was just like, 'Go ahead, I'ma just support what you gon' do. You can handle it.' And I took a step back. Probably was the [smartest] move I ever made in my life was to let him go 'head."

Jay-Z Speaks Financial Truth in New Song With Kanye West

Jay-Z Speaks Financial Truth in New Song With Kanye West

The Question is did he did Weezy or Baby?
Jay-Z and Kanye West
Jay-Z and Kanye West: Richer than you and Lil Wayne.
In a shocking turn of events, Jay-Z has used the microphone to proclaim his financial superiority over the rest of his hip-hop peers. The assertion comes in a new song with Kanye West entitled “H.A.M.,” which stands for “Hard As a (Mofo)” and is the first single from the duo’s upcoming collaboration album,Watch the Throne.
On the track, released on Kanye’s Facebook page early Tuesday morning, Jay-Z complains that his competitors merely fantasize about what he does on a daily basis — including, but not limited to, schmoozing with Warren Buffet and Steve Forbes. He also cites this writer’s $450 million valuationof his personal net worth, rounding up slightly to “half a billie,” before taking a shot at a fellow Hip-Hop Cash King or two: “Really, you got baby money.”
The line is a double entendre meant both as a general reference to the small amount of money that other rappers have in comparison to Jay-Z, and as a specific reference to the wealth of rapper Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter, also known as “Weezy Baby,” and fellow New Orleans rapper and record executive Brian “Birdman” Williams, also known as “Baby.”
The latter recently claimed the former had more money than Jay-Z, which is, well, simply not true. Jay-Z earned $63 million dollars last year, tops on our list of hip-hop’s top earners, while Lil Wayne banked $20 million. Birdman did not make the list.
Perhaps the best line on Jay-Z’s new track is a verifiable and, one might say progressive, boast: “(You) ain’t got my lady’s money!
Indeed, BeyoncĂ© took in a whopping $87 million by our last annual count, more than any rapper — and more than Jay-Z and Lil Wayne combined.

Lil Wayne Makes Surprise Appearance At New Orleans' Bayou Classic

Lil Wayne was back in his hometown of New Orleans this weekend for the annual Bayou Classic.  He hit the stage with his Young Money homies at the Fan Fest Saturday afternoon.  And we've got pics and video of his first hometown performance since Rikers when you read on...

Weezy, Tyga, Lil Twist, Lil Chuckie, and Lloyd all performed "Bedrock" and "Deuces" and some other ish.  People pretty much lost their minds when Weezy hit the stage in Champions Square outside the Superdome.

Here's the vid.  Welcome home
Weezy.  And congrats to the Grambling State Tigers for taking home the win.
