Kendrick Lamar Addresses Gay Rights

Kendrick Lamar has become the latest rapper to voice his opinion on LGBT rights. The West Coast rhymer spoke to DJ Drama about the ongoing controversy surrounding marriage equality and gay rights. Lamar says that people should be allowed to live their lives without persecution or being ostracized.
“You know it’s crazy man. I don’t give a f*ck about people doing what they gotta do,” said Kendrick. “That’s your lifestyle; you dig what I’m saying? And people gonna be they own individuals and have they own worlds and I can’t knock it. I believe in Jesus. Just cause if you didn’t believe in Jesus I can’t knock you for not [believing], you got your own beliefs and your own morals. I can’t help the way you was born if you was gay. And I can’t change that so do what you gotta do to be happy.”

Kendrick Lamar Explains Aftermath Deal

Rapper Kendrick Lamar explained in a recent interview exactly why he decided to link himself and his TDE crew with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. Lamar says that Dre's experience played a huge role in his decision--and the fact that he recognized TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) and their potential as a unit.
"We had tons of offers on the table - money, money, money - any individual would've took the money fast, but it was about these labels knowing the imprint we already put on the game - our sound and not trying to change that," he explained. "Dre knew exactly what we were trying to do; he'd been [with] Death Row, he'd been [with] Aftermath, these [are] from the bottom to the top labels. That's what Top Dawg is; he recognized that, he recognized we move as a unit, and we're going to continue to push that now. What Dre can do is continue to show us the guides and the steps to how he got to the point where he is at with Aftermath."

Kendrick Lamar Doesn't Feel Famous?

Kendrick Lamar might be one of the hottest new emcees in the game, but the West Coast rhymer doesn't fully realize that he's 'made it yet.' Despite the fact that he's a protege of a bonafide hip hop legend (Dr. Dre) had one of last year's most acclaimed digital releases ("Section.80") and has been featured in a high-profile Adidas ad, Lamar says it hasn't hit him that he's a star.
"You know what's crazy? I don't even consider myself famous," Lamar said of his newfound fame. "I still be doing the same old sh*t. It ain't really hit me just yet. I still move around. I just get stopped more. The experience has been crazy."
Lamar also recently released the Dr. Dre-featured single "The Recipe."

Kendrick Lamar Talks "The Recipe"

Kendrick Lamar and legendary hip hop producer Dr. Dre discussed their latest track, Lamar's "The Recipe" during an interview with Power 106 in Los Angeles. Dre said that the track was reflective of classic West Coast hip hop themes.
This was especially evident in the song's original title.
“Old title was ‘Women, Weed & Weather,” said Dre. “That’s the three things you need in life." Lamar added, "‘The Recipe’ is when you mix it all up.”
“This track was done by a guy named Scoop Deville, and we just went into the studio and added our elements to it. I mixed it up. Kendrick wrote the words. It came together and we fell in love with it,” said Dre.
Lamar is prepping his major label debut, Good Kid in a Mad City.
