New Music Drake ~ We Made It Freestyle (feat. Soulja Boy)

NEW MUSIC: DRAKE – ‘TROPHIES’

Drake’s been making fans hold out on hearing “Trophies” for months now but the wait has finally come to a close. The Hit-Boy produced track serves as the second release of what’s expected to include 4 or 5 songs from Drizzy by the end of 2013. Yesterday he released a “We Made It” freestyle, featuring Soulja Boy.
Was this really a leftover from Nothing Was the Same? Based on the celebratory theme of this and yesterday’s release, I’d take this as Drake’s victory lap on a great year.

Drake To Build Recording Studio For Philadelphia’s Strawberry Mansion High School

(AllHipHop News) Young Money recording artist Drake is giving back to a local Philadelphia high school by promising to build a brand new recording studio for students aspiring to becoming performers. The “Started From The Bottom” rapper surprised kids at Strawberry Mansion High School with the announcement during a taping of an ABC News special.
“In the next few months I’m building a recording studio inside your school,” Drake told the students. “This about you. This about your principal. This about your future. I love you. I care about you. I want to see you succeed.”
Strawberry Mansion was featured on a World News with Diane Sawyer special report in May. The “Hidden America” segment covered the school’s principal Linda Cliatt-Wayman, faculty, and students in a what was dubbed “one of the most dangerous high schools in America.” Sawyer returned to SMHS to do an update on the school’s progress and brought Drake along to speak with the students.

Nicki Minaj Talks Drake & Young Money

Nicki Minaj recently appeared on Funkmaster Flex's radio show on Hot 97 and the DJ asked her about labelmate Drake and his status with Cash Money Records. Nicki didn't give a straight answer, but indicated there may be an estrangement.
"[Drake's] so talented," she said. "Sometimes, we've seen this. Sometimes when you're really intelligent and you're really talented, you also think a lot. Sometimes your mind is racing with thoughts. It is what it is. People go through their own motions and you've gotta respect it and keep it moving. We all love the team. We all love Wayne. That's what's gonna always hold us together. Drake is my baby because that's how it was when we came in. So whenever I think of him, 'That's my baby.' Whatever is going on now, obviously we're all very busy and you know, shit happens. It gets a little hard to have a real connection when people are on different sides of the world, working on different things. You just never know who people got in their ear or what they're feeling or maybe they felt wronged in some way. I don't know. I just know that Drake is my baby and Wayne is my everything."

Drake Celebrates His Grammy

Drake finally got his golden gramophone for winning the Best Rap Album Grammy back in February. The trophy arrived this week, and the Young Money superstar wasted no time in putting it to good use.
Drake took a page out of Jay-Z's book, and poured liquor into the award. He drank from the Grammy and passed it over to his friends.
He and his crew had shots and Instagrammed photos of the celebration.
The rapper's third album, Nothing Was the Same, is due to be released September 17th.

Drake Isn't Thinking About Sex?

Drake is focused.
Drake is so focused, in fact, that he's basically given up sex for a while. In an interview with GQ, Drizzy explained how knockin' boots has become less of a focus in his life as he's pushing forward with his career.
"You know the way fighters don't f**k before the fight?" Drake asked. "Sometimes I feel like I'm so focused on training my body and getting my mind right to create this album that sex isn't one of my main priorities."
"If someone is around that I know and trust, I'm down," he added. "But I'm not going to end up with some stranger at this party."

Kendrick Lamar finally debuts the visuals for his listener-approved “Poetic Justice” collaboration with Drake. The clip is opened by a short snippet of “Sherane a.k.a Master Splinter’s Daughter” as a car pulls up to the block party, before the Janet Jackson-sampling anthem soundtracks the fun ahead. A fine young female catches the eye of Kendrick, until both suffer a tragic fate. Love hurts, indeed. good kid, m.A.A.d city is out now on iTunes.

Drake & Chris Brown Sued For $16 Million

The fallout from the now-infamous Drake/Chris Brown fight in New York City back in June has yet to completely die. Both artists are now being sued for $16 million over the fight at W.i.P. The suit was filed by Entertainment Enterprises Ltd.
The suit claims that that Drake and Brown "shared a grudge against [each] other arising out of their romantic relationships with the same woman [Rihanna]," which led them to "fight violently with each other."
"Each arrived with his own small army of bodyguards [and] 'security' personnel...consisting of at least 15 heavily built men trained and/or experienced in hand-to-hand and weapons combat," it says. "Their two posses had at each other, throwing highball glasses laden with alcohol, shattering the handles of bottles of spirits to use as makeshift knives, and even throwing full bottles at each other." Entertainment Enterprises is also suing W.i.P. and its affiliate club Greenhouse for $4 million, as the incident negated a licensing deal that the firm and nightclub had negotiated prior to the fight.
