Shavonne DeAnn VOGUE

What does a young, ambitious designer do when her budding line is overlooked by major editors? She stages her own guerrilla runway show and commands the fashion world to pay attention. That's exactly what designer Shavonne DeAnn did this past Fashion Week at Lincoln Center in New York. Parading around with a megaphone and a sign that read, "Do you know Shavonne DeAnn?" she led a group of four models wearing creations from her eponymous line through the courtyard. Celebrity stylists June Ambrose and Ty Hunter stopped and took notice.

A graduate of Moore College of Art & Design, Shavonne was at a standstill in her career, even after completing internships at Trace Magazine and Kate Spade. She knew she wanted to design, so took a leap of faith, saying, "I got started by just taking my own initiative, believing in myself, and having faith that I could strive for something that I was passionate about. "

In August 2010, she debuted her first collection of divinely sexy and confident knit dresses, rompers, and cardigans. Her playful, high hemmed creations have already found a following with socialites like Angela Simmons, who is a fan of DeAnn's one sleeve Chloe dress. Shavonne's bold designs reflect her unquenchable spirit-and her fearless pursuit of her passion.
