It's a sad day when the only measure of success is whether or not you "get money". I'm not saying that making money is not an important thing, but it is not the only element in success. True success as an artist means that you have done something to effect positive change in the lives and minds of your audience. The only thing Nicki Minaj has told little girls with her image and music is that being yourself and being happy with what God gave you is not enough. It is a disheartening and concerning message. As an artist it is important to look past today and realize that your image and music is an influence on our future. But then again, if you don't love and appreciate yourself, how can you love your people? Needless to say, I'm not a fan. I respect he hustle, but not her image or terribly juvenile and unintelligent lyrics.
