The Kentucky Wildcats celebrated a NCAA Tournament victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels and a trip to the Final Four this past weekend. Also in the 'Cats locker room celebrating was one of the biggest music stars on the planet. Jay-Z showed up to show support for Kentucky (and maybe scout some talent for his New Jersey Nets?)
Several Wildcats players shared their shock and awe at seeing the superstar in the locker room following the game.
"That was crazy, I had to do a double take," said Darius Miller. "I didn’t expect that at all. I just had to get a picture with him. That in itself was a pretty nice experience to add on to [the Final Four]. Going to the Final Four [is bigger] by far. But still, Jay-Z. It’s crazy. This whole day has been crazy. I’m still taking it all in.”
“I said, ‘Oh that’s Jay-Z!" said Terrence Jones. "We all gave him a handshake and he came in the locker room, and we just kept screaming ‘Jay-Z in the locker room!’ He congratulated us, just said he was proud of us.”
