Ryan Donovan, a the British seaman accused of going on a rampage on a submarine in the United Kingdom last week, shooting and killing a Royal Navy officer and wounding another, is discovered to have been an aspiring rapper Reggie Moondogg and associate of artist Tinie Tempah.
Donovan is reported as having began firing after he was denied permission to leave the vessel. He began firing his weapon into a control room, striking Lt. Commander Ian Molyneux and Lt. Commander Chris Hodge. Molyneux died.
Donovan made several demos as a rapper approximately two years ago, one of which was called "Unprovoked Outburst," which was full of references to violence and killing sprees. He joined the Navy as a sound engineer, also roughly two years prior.
According to the U.K.'s Daily Mirror, Donovan maintained his friendship with Tempah, who has become one of Britain's most celebrated emcees. “Ryan used to phone Tinie for advice about the music industry. Music was Ryan’s love and he was thrilled that Tinie had made it so big. Tinie was his hero,” a source said.
