The only screenplay written by rapper/actor Tupac Shakur is currently being developed for the big screen. Pac's original script, called Live 2 Tell, will go into production in 2012.
Afeni Shakur, along with Preston Holmes and Ivan Juzang's NStar Studios, are spearheading the project. They also worked together to produce the acclaimed 2003 documentary Tupac: Resurrection.
"[Tupac] was a genius, and the net of it is, he was from this community, he knew the struggles these young people were dealing with," Juzang told Variety. "And he's able to talk to young people in 2011, 2012, the same way he was able to talk to young people in 1995."
The film tells the story of a drug dealer looking to abandon his life of crime.
