Singer/songwriter Bruno Mars has filed a lawsuit against Bug Music, Inc., the company that publishes his music. He is suing the publisher for allegedly violating the stipulations of his contract. Mars says that he has completed the terms of the deal, but Bug Music refuses to let him out of his contract.
Documents from the Los Angeles County Superior Court indicate that Bug Music will not release Mars. According to the contract, Bug required the singer to release a certain amount of music and once this had been satisfied, Bug had a limited amount of time to offer to renew its contract with Mars.
Mars says that he met Bug's requirements back in February, yet the company failed to renew his contract in the agreed upon amount of time. Bug disputes this, claiming that Mars has not completed his deal. They also currently have access to 50% of his music.
