Garrelle Smith, the suspect that authorities accused of killing rapper Soulja Slim, was found murdered this weekend in New Orleans, LA. Smith's body was discovered with gunshot wounds to the head and chest early Saturday (August 13) morning.
Smith had a reputation as a hitman and was tied to at least five murders, including rapper Soulja Slim. Smith was never convicted of any of the homicides, due to a lack of witnesses that prevented Smith from being prosecuted.
Souljah Slim, birth name James Tapp, was shot and killed in front of his grandmother's home in November of 2003. Detectives believed Smith and an associate named Stephen Kennedy murdered Slim for $10,000.
