Machine Gun Kelly Is Anti-LeBron

As the NBA Finals prepare to tip-off tonight (June 12th), rapper Machine Gun Kelly has made it clear that he is not rooting for LeBron James and the Miami Heat to win the title. An Ohio native, LeBron famously departed the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat in 2010, wounding many fans in Cleveland and around the state--including Shaker Heights native Kelly.
During a recent radio station at Power 107.5, Kelly made sure to let fans know he has no faith in the three-time NBA MVP's ability to win a ring.
"Oh no, he's not taking it," MGK said. "If he doesn't do it this year, then he won't do it again."

Hakim Warrick Vs Carmelo Anthony Philly Vs B More

After watching Carmelo Anthony host some of the game's biggest names for a glitzy summer-league game in his hometown, Phoenix Suns forward and Philadelphia native Hakim Warrick is trying to arrange a Philly-versus-Baltimore showdown against Anthony's crew.
Warrick told ESPN.com that he and Anthony, former college teammates at Syracuse, spoke Wednesday and have tentatively arranged to stage an exhibition game in Philadelphia before the end of September.

"I was trying to do a Philly and Baltimore game awhile ago," Warrick said. "Then when I saw Drew League vs. Goodman League and Team Melo vs. Goodman [on Tuesday night], I was like, 'Man, let me go ahead and set this up.'
"I told [Anthony] that we want to play them next and they have to come up to Philly. And he said he's with it."
Warrick says he'll try to recruit Philadelphia-reared stalwarts such as Sacramento's Tyreke Evans, Orlando's Jameer Nelson and Detroit's Richard Hamilton to play on the Philly squad. Other players Warrick expects to play include Houston's Kyle Lowry, Sacramento's John Salmons, Minnesota'sWayne Ellington, Charlotte's Gerald Henderson, veteran NBA guard Ronald Murray (who finished last season in Turkey) and recent draftees Markieff and Marcus Morris, who were selected in the first round in June by Phoenix and Houston, respectively.
Warrick, 29, said Sixers guard Lou Williams would also play for Team Philly and added that Anthony is assembling a roster of players from Baltimore and Washington, D.C., as opposed to asking Miami's LeBron James and New Orleans' Chris Paul to join him again like they did in Tuesday night's showdown at Morgan State.
"He said he wouldn't bring that same team," Warrick said. "He said he'd probably bring Kevin DurantTy Lawson and other guys from the Baltimore/D.C. area. And for me, other than Lou Will, it's pretty much all Philly. All people who played in Philly and grew up in Philly ... Lou Will is the only one that's from somewhere else. He's kind of like an adopted son of Philly, so I let him on the team."
Asked why he took the initiative, Warrick said: "With most of the older guys, like Rasheed Wallace and those guys [from Philadelphia] retiring, most of the guys are younger than me. I pretty much know everyone and I'm good friends with Melo and that just made it easier."
The date and venue have not been finalized, but Warrick said the plan is to play at one of the local colleges.
"Either Temple, St. Joe's or the Palestra," Warrick said. "My first choice is the Palestra, because when you think of Philly, especially Big 5 Basketball and all the history, you think of the Palestra.
"We don't want it to be too big like at the Wells Fargo [Center], but I don't want it to be at some little, small high school gym. ... Unless someone can talk Bean [Los Angeles Lakers star and former Philly high school phenom Kobe Bryant] into playing. Then we'll need the Wells Fargo for sure."
Such exhibitions are attracting more attention than usual with locked-out NBA players and owners engaged in a labor standoff that has lasted more than 60 days and threatens to delay the start of the season.
A small meeting Wednesday in New York that featured NBA commissioner David Stern and deputy commissioner Adam Silver on the league side and players' association chief Billy Hunter and NBPA president Derek Fisher representing the union was just the second formal sitdown between the sides since the lockout began July 1, amid growing concern that training camps and exhibitions will soon be canceled without significant progress on a deal by mid-September.

The Demonization Of LeBron James. PAY Attention!!!!!!! Says Maverick Carter

“If LeBron were an IPO, I’d buy it … At 21, I wasn’t remotely as mature as LeBron.” — Warren Buffett
Now that the NBA season is over, I have taken a moment to reflect. The lasting memory is not of the glorious success of the Mavs. It is of LeBron James and the season-long media/fan obsession with seeing him and the Heat fail. As one weary sportscaster put it, “We discuss LeBron as if he was our media Facebook status.”
It occurred to me that if all I knew about someone is that he announced a job move and staged it so that $2 million in cash would be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of America, my first reaction would probably be, “Now there’s a person with media savvy who is also a good person at heart.”  Add the fact that the donated cash was virtually all the advertising revenue from that single event and I would feel reassured it was not just a ploy for disguised greed.  If I further discovered that another $1 million in computers and Nike equipment was spread among eight Boys and Girls clubs – most notably Akron, and Cleveland, I would feel even better about the donor who gave back something significant – not just empty words and a wave – to the cities he was raised and was employed.
But if I knew nothing more, I would probably scratch my head about why the network that aired the announcement only made a minor footnote of the $3 million chartable aspect of the event.  And I would scratch my head again if the donor is primarily blamed for the event, when the worst part about it was the publicity, controlled by the network. If I took a moment to reflect, I would say, “Wait a minute. ESPN controlled the sickening number of promotional ploys leading up to the decision. Only ESPN could create the hype because only ESPN controls the airspace.” Then I would say, “For all I know ‘The Decision’ was ESPN’s title.”  Clearly, ESPN made the decision to announce the upcoming decision over and over again, day and night as if it was the second coming of Jesus Christ, instead of the second team for King James. Yet, the demon as crowned by the media was James, not the media itself.  This was the beginning of the demonization of LeBron James.
So let’s add a few other facts. The City of Cleveland and the donor’s prior employer had the benefit of his services for seven years.  During that time the employer’s product (a team) went from mediocre-at-best with a half empty arena to a team on the verge of being the best in the world with a frenzied sold-out arena.  The owner made millions. The local economy grew by millions per year. Yet the employee who is leaving didn’t say anything bad about the City before he left. In fact, he said he loved them and he understood their frustration. His kind words came despite knowing they were burning his uniform in effigy and creating as much venom as their imagination could muster.
In response to the employee’s resignation, the employer’s principal owner called him a “coward”, who was “selfish” and one who committed an act of “betrayal” for exercising his lawful right to pick a new employer. Objectively, on those facts, I hope we would all conclude that if the employee gave up millions of dollars in pursuit of a championship, that kind of selfishness is not so bad.  The reprehensible selfishness would have been demanding all the money he could get even if it hurt the teams salary cap – financial stability.

LeBron James On Mother's Arrest

LeBron James On Mother's Arrest:
Miami Heat superstar LeBron James has spoken up about his mother, Gloria, and her arrest yesterday (April 7)for slapping a parking attendant. According to reports, Mama James was intoxicated when the incident occurred.
“It’s very sensitive, because it’s your mother, of course," LeBron said, before joking, "You guys want to ask me anything else about basketball, I’m happy to answer it[...]You have to move forward. It is my life, and it is certain things you have to deal with, but like I said, I try not to let it be a distraction. I have a job that I have to do still, at the end of the day.[...]Sometimes things happen in life. You take care of it and move on.”

LeBron James Sued By Nightclub

LeBron James Sued By Nightclub
Miami Heat superstar LeBron James is being sued by an Atlanta nightclub that claims LBJ reniged on a promise to appear on March 17. James was scheduled to appear at Atlanta's Opera for $25,000. But James canceled the appearance and opted to appear that night at the Gold Club instead.
Opera is suing James and the Gold Room and a hearing on the request for a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction is set for Thursday in Fulton Superior Court. "We want to make sure LeBron doesn’t show up any place else," Yasha Heidari, the attorney for the Opera, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The suit alleges that Awesomelife, LeBron's company, and his agent took a $12,500 only to inform Opera two days later that James 'did not want to make the appearance.' The agent then told Opera that the Gold Room wanted LeBron to renege on the agreement and appear at their club instead. The agent demanded $6,000 to ensure James would still appear at Opera.
After taking $3,000, the agent subsequently informed Opera that LeBron would still not be appearing at their nightclub.

Gilbert Arenas Was Served Papers By Ex At Halftime Of Heat Game.

Orlando Magic guard Gilbert Arenas was served papers by his ex-girlfriend during halftime of Thursday night's game against the Miami Heat. Postedgilbert-arenas-magic by Ben Golliver.

Before Thursday night's game against the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic guard Gilbert Arenas was all smiles, posing and laughing with his teammates as they mocked Heat forward LeBron James's famouse "team photo" ritual. Surely, he wasn't in such a good mood at halftime.

The Associated Press reports that Arenas was served child support papers by his ex-girlfriend, Laura Govan, during halftime of Thursday night's nationally-televised game.

A process server stopped Arenas as he walked off the court Thursday night against the Miami Heat. The court documents, obtained by The Associated Press, were a California petition filed by Laura Mendoza Govan. She identifies herself as his ex-girlfriend in the documents.
The petition seeks custody and child support for three children that Govan says Arenas fathered and has since "financially cut off." She is also seeking support for another unborn child.
Magic GM Otis Smith, who is Arenas' mentor and traded for him in December, confirmed the report to the Orlando Sentinel on Friday night.

Earlier this week, the Washington Post noted that Arenas discussed the trouble with Govan on a 106.7 FM radio show.
People facing expensive court battles usually keep quiet, but the former Wizard was awfully chatty in his call into our colleague Mike Wise's 106.7 FM radio show. It's all lies, Arenas claimed -- except the bit about what Govan said he spends on his legendary shark tank. Yes, it's really five grand a month: "I'd rather spend $5,000 on my fish than have a drinking problem." The sharks, he claimed, have died, because of "somebody throwing pennies in the fish tank." No names.
Otherwise, he accused Govan of overhyping his finances. "If you look back at the last couple breakups of any NBA athlete... it's a format they all go by to get more child support money... This is not 'Basketball Wives.'... These girls got to stop living a fantasy world." As for him: "You make bad choices as an adult, and we pick the wrong woman sometime." Ouch. Govan did not reply by press time.
Govan clearly didn't reply by press time because she was too busy planning an official reply at halftime.

What a mess.

Christmas Day Lakers Vs Heat Recap

GREAT HYPE ALL YEAR, BUT THE GAME WAS NOT WORTH IT.

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant ran their mouths while they jogged downcourt, not quite making eye contact during an unpleasant conversation in the closing minutes.
“Just asked him what he got for Christmas,” James said. Although the two superstars wouldn’t reveal what angry words they exchanged, it wasn’t tough to pick out a few statements Saturday. While Kobe and the Los Angeles Lakers got a disturbing first look at the Miami Heat, LeBron got the last word at Staples Center yet again.
James had 27 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists while hitting a season-high five 3-pointers, and the Heat thrived on the holiday stage in a 96-80 victory.
Although both teams called the game a television curiosity rather than a potential NBA Finals preview, it clearly meant something to James, who had his third triple-double with Miami and the 31st of his career. James also outplayed Bryant, who scored 17 points, in his second straight Christmas win in the Lakers’ home arena, following last season’s victory for LeBron’s Cavaliers.
“We’re not trying to make a statement to anyone,” James said. “We’re trying to show each other that we can play at a high level and try to get better every game. This is one game. … We’re happy because we got better today.”
While the Heat realize Boston and Orlando are much more important obstacles to their championship hopes, and while the Lakers don’t get terribly excited about playing anybody until the playoffs, there was a palpable edge in the crowd at Staples Center for this intersectional matchup – until the Heat’s steady defensive effort flattened the Lakers in the second half.
Chris Bosh had 24 points and 13 rebounds, Dwyane Wade added 18 points on a sore knee and the Heat won for the 14th time in 15 games while flustering the two-time defending champions into a terrible offensive performance, starting with Los Angeles’ 14-point first quarter.
“Our whole thing is just playing solid defense the whole game,” Bosh said. “That’s the primary part of our identity. Our backbone right now is defense.”
James played a balanced, patient game, even after a technical foul near halftime for an under-the-basket scuffle with Lakers defensive stopper Ron Artest. James’ teammates contributed enough to keep the Heat comfortably ahead, with Bosh playing an outstanding first half and Mario Chalmers contributing 13 points in a reserve role, including three 3-pointers. “Offensively, it’s probably the most trust and the most poise we’ve played (with) this season,” Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said.
Pau Gasol scored 17 points for the Lakers, who fell behind early and never caught up to the tantalizing new contenders for their title. Although Bryant wore garish green shoes for the holiday, his Lakers simply didn’t raise their games to meet the spotlight that follows Miami, falling well behind in the first half and never making a run.
Bryant, who picked up his third technical foul in two games, was visibly displeased with his teammates throughout the second half.
“It’s like these games mean more to our opponents than they do to us,” Bryant said. “I think we need to get that straight – play with more focus, put more (emphasis) on these games. I don’t like it. … We know what we’re capable of doing, and that’s part of the problem.”
Lamar Odom had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Lakers, who have lost two straight at home after winning five in a row on the road, following up Tuesday’s collapse against Milwaukee with this high-profile flop. While Odom thinks the Lakers are overconfident, Bryant believes the problems start in practice.
“Individually, you have to make that decision on what’s important,” Bryant said. “The game has to be the most important thing. … This is serious stuff. You don’t just have two rings and say, ‘That’s enough. We’re satisfied with what we’ve got.’ I’m not going to let that slide.”
Coach Phil Jackson dislikes the Lakers’ annual spot on the NBA’s Christmas schedule, and perhaps for reasons beyond the season: Los Angeles dropped to 4-8 on Christmas since 1999, including last season’s one-sided loss to Cleveland, which ended with dozens of giveaway foam hands getting thrown on the court. Players on both teams broke out festive holiday sneakers for the occasion, including lime-green Nike kicks on Bryant, Gasol and Odom. James and Bosh wore holiday-red shoes with garish green laces.
James got his T shortly afterward for shoving Artest under the basket with 10 seconds left in the first half after Artest wrapped nearly his entire arm around James’ neck while battling for rebounding position.
“I was in a WWE headlock, and I was trying to get out of it,” James said.

Dr. Dre & LeBron James Power Beats Commercial

+ Apparently Lebron became a de facto pitch man for the brand when Dre gave him a pair of Beats while he was heading to the Olympics. A few months later, they linked up and started vibing over how neither could find a pair of headphones that sounded any good and didn't slip off their ears while working out. That's how Power Beats were born. Not only do they have the incredible Beats sound, they also have control talk so that you can talk on your iPhone with them.
