RZA On Working With Kanye

RZA On Working With Kanye:
RZA has worked with Kanye on his highly-acclaimed 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and now the Wu-Tang legend has discussed contributing to the rapper's joint project with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne.
"Kanye asked me to send tracks while they were in Australia," RZA revealed in an interview. "I just thought I would send some sh*t that would be rugged. I know they can find the poppy, hip-hop places, but I wanted to send them some real edgy sh*t. Apparently they thought they were great - Kanye said, 'Send some more of that Wu sh*t!' -- In the past, when Jay-Z did Best of Both Worlds with R. Kelly, I thought it was a great album but the campaign went south because of personalities. With this project, it's the best of many worlds. These two guys have a great chemistry and a great relationship. I'm excited."

NY Mag Pits Diddy Against Kanye

“Could Diddy’s Arty Electronic Epic Be More Interesting Than Kanye’s Art-Rocky One?” That’s the question NY Mag is posing. While Kanye seems to have embraced the spectacle he has become in recent years, Diddy has embraced the rise of dance music and merged his talents with Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper to become the powerhouse trio of Diddy Dirty Money. NY Mag calls Diddy Dirty Money’s debut album Last Train to Paris “excellent stuff” and says “the music actually becomes the hypnotic cruise it aspires to be.” Check out NY Mag for the complete review.

Diddy Dirty Money’s debut album Last Train to Paris is available now.

Rihanna Has Nine #1s, Kanye West Is Possibly Peaking At 500K For 1st Week And Nicki Minaj Is On His Heels

The first word that comes to a lot of minds when they think of music today is… GARBAGE!!! But then, you have artist like Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna who have all seem to pump some type of life back into the 808s.
According to Billboard, Rihanna has set the record for having the most Number Ones in this Millineum. She had a total of 4 #1′s drop this year with two going back to back, “Only Girl In The World” and “What’s My Name?” When the album “Rated R” was release, we all could have sworn after Rihanna’s punching bag fiasco, her career wasn’t looking to bright with a track like “Russian Roulette” but then she hit back with “Rude Boy” and everyone forgot about the song of death. Rihanna’s new album “LOUD” was released last week selling 200k units so, far.
Now on to Kanye West… Mr. West has been releasing ‘FREE’ music for the past two months and everyone has been eating it up. Even with him releasing dayyumm near 10 tracks, only about 3 free songs ended up being on the album, which left people wanting more. Kanye is predicted to sell about 500K in his first week but we think it will be a little bit more. Maybe not seeing how he just went off on Bush, Matt Lauer and Taylor Swift… AGAIN!!!
Then there is Nicki Minaj… her CD dropped on Monday and is flowing right behind Mr. West. Having Diddy in her corner might have been the best thing she could have done besides hooking up with Lil Wayne. Nicki also teamed up with Mac for an exclusive lipstick that will be dropping on Black Friday. Wonder if these extras day actually helped with album sales… for her sake we hope so but other than that, we haven’t heard too much about how her album is doing besides being #3 on iTunes.
Who’s Music Will You Be Bumping for the Holidays???

I said Ye would out sale nicki i may just be right

Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Reviews

It's a given that Kanye West's new album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy will be a commercial hit, but considering West's erratic personality and his ever-evolving relationship with the media, it was never a sure thing that the album would be reviewed well. Most of West's past albums have been written about well, though they do tend to be polarizing (this was especially true of West's previous album808s & Heartbreak, which fiercely divided everybody). But the first batch of high-profile reviews for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, it turns out that critics are absolutely in love with West's latest opus, and it's on track to be one of the best-reviewed releases of the year and a sure-fire "Album of the Year" candidate for many publications and sites.
The review in Rolling Stone turned heads immediately. The venerable rock magazine gave the album five stars, which is not something that happens very often (and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is one of only a handful of hip-hop albums to achieve that level of greatness). "WithFantasy, he makes everybody else on the radio sound laughably meek, but he’s also throwing down a challenge to the audience," wrote critic Rob Sheffield. "Kanye West thinks you're a moron if you settle for artists who don't push as hard as he does. And that means pretty much everybody."
Simon Voznick-Levinson's review in Entertainment Weekly was just as glowing, both of the music on the album and of the man himself. "[West] is ravenous for fresh inspiration, and the last four decades of music are on the menu," Voznick-Levinson wrote. "He samples atmospheric noodling from Aphex Twin and bombastic nuggets from Black Sabbath and King Crimson, and he gets help from some of the biggest names in pop, rap, and indie rock. West crafts these influences into a fever dream with a crescendo around every corner — the Beautiful Fantasy of the album's title."
The Boston Phoenix also thought that West had achieved a certain kind of transcendence. "Fantasy is the sound of an artist who is so far from shunning the spotlight that the firepower of the wattage pointed at him is a full-on supernova," wrote critic Daniel Brockman. And Spin magazine summed up Kanye's new album thusly: "West isn't claiming to be flawless anymore. He's trying to make a masterpiece. Trying to be honest with us. Trying to be honest with himself. Trying to figure out if he's closer to God or to something else entirely. Far more important than his aim, however, is the fact that he tries at all," wrote critic Chris Martins. "The Grammys, the platinum packs, the tickets stub from all the arenas he's rocked — they aren't laurels to be rested on. They're a jagged, unbalanced bed that West could spend a lifetime squirming over, perhaps finding only 60 or so minutes of thorny comfort at a time. That's eternally daunting news for him. But for us, it's a blessing."
