Bow Wow Wants Respect
Bow Wow is still committed to tooting his own horn. Since most of hip hop regards him as a joke, it only makes sense for the former teen star to continue to try and convince everyone of how great he supposedly is.
Somebody has to.
"Well it's how I feel. Me, I look at things and ask questions like 'What will a XXL cover be like?' I be seeing the cover with rappers that have never sold records or ever went gold in they entire careers; but have gotten like three covers and I'm looking like how the h*ll?!" he says. "I sold 12 million albums went on six tours, sold out Madison Square Garden seven times, and how the h*ll I don't get no XXL cover? Every time I reach out they always got something [to] say on why. Are you basing it off skill? Cause I know some of these n*ggas can't rap better than me, at the end of the day what are you basing it off? I don't get that nod like I should get, but we gon' get it this time even if we got to take it!"

Bow Wow On Jay-Z Vs. Wayne

Bow Wow shared his take on the (slightly one-sided) beef between rappers Lil Wayne and Jay-Z. Bow Wow compared the rivalry to sports rivalries and said its as old as hip hop itself. He says let the two go at it if that's what they want to do.
"From the fans' perspective, I look at it as this is something they want," Bow explained. "Why not? Battle rapping has been going on in hip-hop since it was created. This is something that's been in our sport for years...[Boxing champion] Floyd Mayweather is the best but they say he ain't the best until he fights [Manny] Pacquiao. Sometimes you might have to man up and go for the gold. We see the Patriots going at the Giants. We seen two good teams always go at each other, so how come two great rappers [can't] go at each other? You have two giants going at each other. To me it's all competitive, it's a form of art, it's rap, it's something we seen before. But, if you're gonna do it, then, do it."

Bow Wow Talks Fatherhood

Bow Wow opened up in a recent interview about his new experiences as a father. The former teen rapper says having a daughter has made him a better man, but he's very nervous about raising his child in the spotlight.
"Fatherhood is beautiful, know what I mean? I can't complain, it made me a better rapper, and a better man," Bow Wow told SOHH. "It made me see life differently. Clearly. It made me turn into a man overnight. I love it. It gets kinda difficult to [spend time in public] because fatherhood is kinda the hot story that's around me right now, everybody wants to know [about us]. I was out in L.A. and everybody's trying their best to get pictures of my daughter, so you know, it's not easy."
Be glad that people care, Bow Wow.

Joie Chavis Changes Her Story

Bow Wow's baby mama Joie Chavis is now claiming that stories that she excluded the rapper's name from their daughter's birth certificate were exaggerated. Joie says TMZ basically 'made' her give them the story.
Nothing like getting knocked-up by a Z-list rapper to get an aspiring 'model' some extra pub.
"I wasn't gonna address this because I'm tired of the drama but, I DID not take my daughter's birth certificate to TMZ, nor did I contact them for an interview. I was put in an uncomfortable spot," she says. "They practically backed me into a corner saying they were going to run a story anyway. I was asked a question, answered it truthfully and somehow my words were twisted and manipulated. I in no way wish to speak badly of my child's father and definitely would not leak my daughter's birth certificate which I myself don't even have in my own possession!"

Bow Wow Left Off Birth Certificate

Bow Wow's baby's mother, Joie Chavis has made it clear that--despite voicing her solidarity with the rapper, things have been bumpy since the birth of their baby girl, Shai. Chavis left Bow Wow's name off of the birth certificate; and says she did so because she had to endure her pregnancy virtually alone.
There are also reports that he didn't see his daughter until six days after she was born.
"He’s getting all these props as dad of the year, I just hope he does the work, in fact, I pray he becomes an example to all young fathers," Joie says. "I was happy to hear his statements, I just pray he lives up to it.

Bow Wow's Baby Mama Speaks

Bow Wow's baby mama, Joie Chavis, has come forward to discuss their relationship and his admissions to contemplating suicide. She says that their bond stretches back to before their relationship became romantic or intimate and that she tried to encourage him to push forward through his pain.
"He would always talk to me. We became friends before anything. So he would always talk to me and I was straight to the point with him. I would always tell him 'you have fans, you have people who admire and look up to you. You have a beautiful blessing on the way that you have to live for. You have so much to live for so don't think like that.' I was definitely always there for him to cope with whatever he was going through. And just letting him know, be that father that you didn't have to your daughter."

Bow Wow Admits Having A Daughter

Releasing a poorly worded letter to his 'fans' (all seventeen of them), Bow Wow confirmed rumors that he is in fact a new father. He admits he contemplated suicide and couldn't be happier now with his little daughter.
"Let me start off by saying i love my fans. With out yall i wudda been left the game," Bow Wow wrote. "For the past 3 years i been batteling life. Even thought about taking my own. I felt like as a kid i did everything and saw everything too fast which spoiled my adult years. I felt as if i had no purpose to live(Thinking selfishly) until god gave me the illest gift of my life. No lambo, no blk card nuffn ammounts to my lil girl. I waited so long to tell yall the truth because i was nervous on how yall would look at me. Yall know everyone makes a big deal out of everything i do. I wanted to be 1st n let yall know the real. My lil girl is getting BIG fast. i love every minute of it. She inspires me to go harder.Even made me treat my mother better, its like it made me into a man over night. Never been a fan of posting pix of my daughter. Reason is because i want my boo boo to have everything i didnt. Want her to be able to cheerlead with her lil friends with out some a**hole sticking his camera all in my lil girl face."
Guess anybody publicity really is good publicity.

Bow Wow Denies Daughter Rumors

Bow Wow has come out denying reports that he has fathered a baby girl. Despite the fact that his career has been comatose for years, the rapper still manages to somehow get caught up in the rumor mill. He doesn't confirm or deny that there may be a kid that's his somewhere--but Bow does say the current reports are false.
"Picture on mediatakeout aint my daughter... Some bloggers f*cking suck at they job. Get accurate info for once. Stop feeding people bullsh*t," Bow Wow tweeted. "I dont need no blogs to tell my fans nuffn. Ill share my personal issues with my people when i feel comfortable. They will be 1st to know."
Dude, just be happy anybody wants to know.

Bow Wow Talks Retirement...Again

Bow Wow is excited about his upcoming album, his first since signing with Cash Money Records. The rapper says this is best work yet and even joked that he may have to retire after he releases it. Because it's so good, apparently.
"I'm not worried at all. On this record, I sound like a new artist," Bow Wow says. "I'm even approaching it like a new artist. There are so many things that are going on around me that as an artist you want to write about it. And the things that I'm writing about now are true things that I feel. This is my most passionate, realest, and emotional album that I've ever done. This album is so personal to me. Once the fans hear this album, I don't know how I will be able to top it. I may just have to bow out after I drop this one."

Bow Wow On Cash Money Roster

Bow Wow is still singing the praises of the Cash Money label. The rapper acknowledged the variety of artists that are under the Cash Money/Young Money umbrella. Bow Wow shared his take on the label's strength and his role within the camp.
"I'm Cash Money, but you know we're all under the same umbrella," he told Wrap-Up. "It's all the same thing we screaming out, 'YMCMB.' We're all under one umbrella and that's what it is, we all fit together well because we're all so different. Nicki [Minaj] is the first female rapper on the label, Drake is the new artist and you've got [Lil] Wayne, he's a rock star. Then myself, I'm like the triple threat. I do the movies; I do the music, so we all contribute off of each other."
"I can open up doors in Hollywood for my team mates and just try to make things easier for them," Bow Wow continued. "Nicki wants to do movies; she was supposed to be in 'Lottery Ticket', a lot of people didn't know that. She actually auditioned; I set it up and everything. So that's just the power that I have, that's what I can do, so it's really all about just helping each other."

Bow Wow Wants Respect
A Rocky Williform Company

Bow Wow continues to make himself harder and harder to root for. First off, he named his European tour "Underrated," which is just laaaaaaame, and now he's popping off to MTV about (you guessed it) being underrated and how no one respects his track record.
"I feel like a lot of dudes who get recognition in the game," Bow Wow said. "I’ve been doing it longer than them and I think people are stuck in the right now, that they forget about the past and that’s one thing that I don’t do. That’s a discredit to somebody’s past and especially their numbers, because like J (Jay-Z) said: ‘They don’t lie, stats don’t lie.’ I just get tired of that sometimes, when you work so hard and you’re passionate about what you do, you want to get acknowledged for it. Other than Eminem and Jay-Z, I can’t tell you another rapper who has sold out Madison Square Garden five times, besides me! I’m in that bracket, but people won’t say that because they are so caught up with the past and Lil’ Bow Wow and are not focused on the current."
Can we PUH-LEEZE stop acting like sales numbers and tour numbers imply that an artist isn't wack? Especially if that artist is Bow Wow?
