Nicki Minaj Blasted By Catholic League

The President of the Catholic League has denounced Nicki Minaj’s controversial performance at the 54th annual Grammy Awards. The rapper's performance of "Roman Holiday" was full of religious overtones, including dancing monks, a mock exorcism and an opening with a priest in a confessional.
“Nicki Minaj, fresh off looking like a fool with Madonna at the Super Bowl, showed up last night on the red carpet at the Grammys with a guy dressed like the pope,” Bill Donahue said in a statement. “This was just a prelude of what was to come.”
“Whether Minaj is possessed is surely an open question, but what is not in doubt is the irresponsibility of The Recording Academy,” Bill Donahue said. “Never would they allow an artist to insult Judaism or Islam.”
“It’s bad enough that Catholics have to fight for their rights vis-à-vis a hostile administration in Washington without also having to fend off attacks in the entertainment industry,” Bill Donahue continued. “The net effect, however, will only embolden Catholics, as well as their friends in other faith communities.”

Madonna's Hip Hop-Assisted Halftime Show

Pop icon Madonna gave a spectacular Super Bowl Halftime performance that featured a medley of some of her classic hits like "Vogue" and "Music," but saved the newest for last, as she performed her new single "Give Me All Your Luvin'" with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. and sang a second medley with Cee-Lo Green.
Dance pop act LMFAO also performed their hits "Party Rock Anthem," and "I Know It."
Madonna's extravagant performance featured ancient Roman themes, a cheerleader section, a marching band and a gospel choir. The show continued a quasi-rebirth for hip hop artists at the Super Bowl Halftime show that began with last year's performance by the Black Eyed Peas, which had been the first time hip hop artists were included since Nelly, Kid Rock and Diddy performed part of the show in 2004--famous for Janet Jackson's notorious 'Nipplegate.'

Nicki Minaj Performing With Madonna

While it's been known for months that pop icon Madonna will be taking the stage at this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show, the Material Girl's performance details have been shrouded in mystery. At least, that was the case until last week, when it was announced that Cee-Lo Green will also play a part in the show.
Now it looks like another superstar from the world of hip hop could be onstage with Madge. Nicki Minaj gave an eyebrow-raising statement on Twitter about her busy schedule that revealed a Super Bowl performance alongside the Queen of Pop.
"Super Bowl rehearsals w/the Queen ;) ----> RT @HumbleNika: @NICKIMINAJ what does your agenda contain today Nic? :)," she tweeted.
