Obama Daughters Like Frank Ocean

The Obamas are pretty cool with the music elite. After all, Beyonce and Jay-Z have hosted fundraisers and attended inaugurations, Bruce Springsteen comes around to kick it every now and then--they're pretty cool with the elder statesmen of the game. But what about the kids? The First Lady revealed during an appearance on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" that her kids are fans of Frank Ocean--and other music that their parents may not like.

"They don't really listen to us," Michelle Obama said. "They try to hip us to stuff, you know, I learned about Elle Varner because of Malia and they like Frank Ocean, we are Beyoncé devotes. But there's some music that they'll tell us, 'I think the music is too rough for you.' I'm like, 'Really?' ... They don't allow us to just listen to anything. They're looking out for our well-being."

Vanessa Hudgens Loves "Rack City?"

Vanessa Hudgens appeared on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" to promote her latest film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. But the two wound up talking about Hudgens' favorite music, and the former teen queen eventually shared that she is a fan of Young Money star Tyga.

The beauty loves "Rack City," apparently.

"And 'Rack City?' Rack, rack, rack city chick. Rack, rack, rack city chick," Hudgens recited to Fallon. "Throwin' hundreds, hundreds! Hundreds, hundreds. [laughs] That's my slogan."

Fallon said he hadn't heard the song.

The Roots Have To Get NBC Clearance

The Roots' drummer/producer ?uestlove has revealed that NBC is now clearing the band's selections for walk-on music on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." The news comes after a recent incident in which the Roots played an instrumental of Fishbone's "Lyin' Ass B*tch" as Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann walked out for an interview on the show.

"it was a real bummer that it happened. We don't want to censor anyone, but...I don't know," Fallon said--before joking; "Maybe ?uestlove is a Romney guy."

"It's still a comedy show, so they promise not to step on my toes or that type of thing, but they definitely want to know the title of the song, the subject matter of the song – can it be seen as an insult?" ?uestlove told the Associated Press. "It was kind of wrong for me to throw [NBC] under the bus without telling them what it was, so I understand from a business standpoint."
