Trina Supportive of Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean's coming out has sparked much conversation in the hip hop community, and the Odd Future-affiliated singer/songwriter has gotten a lot of support. Miami-based femcee Trina voiced her support for Ocean and his talent.
"He's extremely talented and that's what matters," Trina told TMZ. "I don't think [Frank's] music sales or the level of support his music obtains should be judged based on his sexual preference."
"If he's happy and comfortable with his sexuality then so be it," she continued. "I feel his decision to come forward was bold and honest. It's his life. Let him enjoy and live it. I wish him much success and happiness."

Trina On Being A Femcee

Trina discussed her beginnings in the male-dominated rap game in a recent interview. The Miami rap star says that she was primed for a breakthrough when she initially emerged in the late 90s/early 2000s but that she also feels men didn't see her as an equal.
"Of course, rap was still a male-dominated game," she says. "And I came into it around a bunch of guys like Trick Daddy and Rick Ross, who were just real strong dudes. But coming up among men, you get that hardheadedness, that toughness about you. So I got the best of both worlds, because I had the guys there to give me the tough part, and then it was up to me to just keep my sexy going. It kinda balanced out!"
"I wouldn't say I was considered an equal," she added. "I was just a new chick who was fierce, b*tchy, raw, sexy. And there was a lane for it. I've worked with some of the greatest guys in the game, and they've always treated me with the same amount of respect, as if they were just working with another dude."
"Now there are so many new, talented females coming up in the game," she added. "And the ladies will have a lot to say in hip-hop. It's gonna be huge. Watch out."

Trina: Size DOES Matter

Trina sought to dispel an old myth during a recent interview with The Breakfast Club. The Miami femcee says that when it comes to a man's (ahem) 'size,' he needs to have adequate equipment for him to keep her attention.
She may hurt the feelings of some smaller-than-average fellas out there.
"I'm actually single, I don't have a man," Trina said in an interview with DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee. "I'm not a dater, I've never like, went on a date, went to the movies, went out to dinner -- It's really important. I'm just being real because I don't feel like, and it's nothing you could do about it, if your size is just small, that's just what you're born with. But size to a woman, it really matters and if they tell you it don't, I think they are telling a lie. Because you need to have a good size, something that's gonna bang your back out and make you feel good. Otherwise, you're going to be looking for something else."

Trina Supports V-Nasty?

Trina said she supports controversial White Girl Mob member V-Nasty. The Miami rapper said that V-Nasty's use of the N-word in her freestyle should be examined within context. Since V-Nasty isn't trying to demean anyone, Trina says her use of the word isn't worth the controversy its generated.
"I don't see what the big deal about it is," Trina said in an interview. "It's a matter of respect, if you're not being disrespectful, if you're not doing it in a racist way...I'm not really the person that cares too much about all that. ... Let's worry about voting for Barack Obama for president again. I don't think the N-word is such a big deal, we've been saying it for years, decades, white, blacks, Hispanic, Jamaican, Haitian, Chinese whatever.",?p>
"It is what it is, we didn't create it, we didn't start it and we're not going to be the last to say it," she added. "It's going to continue on and on and on so we just need to focus on what's important."

Trina's Cousin Turns Up the Heat

Trina's Cousin Turns Up the Heat
Rapper Trina is known for her sex appeal, and it looks like the bootyliciousness runs in the family. The Miami-born femcee has a little cousin named Sunny Monroe currently making a name for herself as a hip hop model.
According to Bossip, "What we can gather here is that Sunny shares three things with her older, better known cousin: class, ambition, and a**. Her goal is to use those attributes to bring Brown-skinned beauties back to the forefront in the light-bright world of cakes & video modeling."
Sunny, while pursuing an acting career, is still a student at Bethune-Cookman University.

Trina On Southern Hip Hop

Trina On Southern Hip Hop:
Trina hit the hip hop scene just as southern hip hop was beginning to cross over into the mainstream. The Miami femcee has a unique perspective on the subgenre's transformation over the years and points out that regional biases kept southern hip hop bubbling below the surface for years.
"At first, people really did not take the South that seriously," Trina says. "It wasn't considered real hip-hop - just fast music, a lot of up-tempo, booty-shaking dance music. Over the years, it has gotten stronger, and there are some Southern artists - Trick [Daddy], T.I., Ludacris, Lil' Wayne, Rick Ross - that took what they believed in and turned it into a whole hip-hop genre. I'm really honored to be a part of that movement. There are so many different artists from different parts of the South that have different types of music. And now it's taking over - and at first it wasn't even considered!"
