With several rappers and other celebs noticeably slimming down, former "American Idol" contestant Kimberly Locke was recently asked to give her take on plastic surgery as a tool for weight loss. While Paul Wall had surgery to help with his weight loss, other notables like Fat Joe did it the old-fashioned way. Locke says that fans shouldn't rush to have expensive procedures done in the name of shedding pounds.
"I think there are a lot of dangers any time you go under the knife," Locke told SOHH. "It's a serious matter. I would say to people that if they can do it on their own, they're going to be healthier for it and happier with the results. Nothing beats the good old fashioned way of watching what you eat, writing it down, going to the gym and working it out. I know people who have done the surgery and at the end of the day, they're not happy with the way their body looks because they have a lot of loose skin and feel still unattractive."
"I would advise anybody, if they are healthy and can get out to the gym and do it at home, build a support system around you, get a nutritionist, read magazines and do research on your own," she added. "I would say if you can do it, do it without getting the surgery."
