Rick Ross Explains Cancelled Shows

A representative for Rick Ross has addressed the circumstances that led to the rapper canceling his expected show dates in Australia. Ross was set to perform Down Under but pulled out--causing many to believe that he abandoned the shows for medical reasons. But Ross' reps say the cancellation was due to contractual issues.

“[Rick] Ross was looking forward to touching the people of Australia, this event as it is the one of biggest urban festivals in Australia, he is very disappointed that he will not be performing,” a rep for Rick Ross told AllHipHop. “It is unfortunate that the payment arrangements did not meet contractual deadlines.”

Chris Brown, Kelly Rowland, Lupe Fiasco, Ice Cube, Trey Songz, Naughty By Nature and Big Sean are all still expected to perform on the tour, which runs from April 14-22.

Trey Songz On Stars' Over-Tweeting:

R&B singer Trey Songz shared his opinion on stars oversharing on Twitter. The star says that he wants to be more like the celebrities of yesteryear that retained a little mystery, as opposed to those that can't seem to get enough of putting their business out there for fans.

"What made Prince Prince is, you didn't know sh*t about him," Trey told GQ. "As an artist, you [need] a persona, a mystique. When you step into Twitter, Facebook, alla that...you're giving a piece of it away."

Mr. Songz may be changing musical directions, as well.

"I could make a hundred 'Bottoms Up's, but they won't change nobody's life. Marvin Gaye sang love songs to a certain point, and then it was like, 'F**k this, I'm not clean-cut no more. I'm putting this skully on, letting this beard grow out, and I'm doing whatever the f**k I wanna do," he says.

Trey Songz OK With Open Relationships?

R&B superstar Trey Songz was asked whether or not he would ever consider an open relationship and he gave an interesting answer. Trey didn't shoot down the possibility, saying that--more than anything--he would have to see what type of woman he was involved with and where her head was at before he could say definitely yes or not.

"When I settle down and meet that one I don’t even think that’s a conversation I could have about what her and I understanding would be," he says. "That’s based on who she is and what she’s with. We’re about to do everything together baby. We’ll talk about it and if that’s something she’s open to then I might be open to it. If she’s not then we’re not doing it. It’s all about who you fall in love with."

Jay-Z and Kanye released their collaborative album Watch The Throne in August 2011, and the album skyrocketed to number one in over 30 countries around the world.

Trey Songz Named Rocawear Pitchman

R&B singer Trey Songz has been named the new face of Rocawear’s latest fragrance, Evolution. The star has been stockpiling the endorsement deals, guest appearances and movie roles in the last year, and this is just the latest example of how Songz is diversifying his brand.

“When [Rocawear] came to me about the fragrance, I only had one requirement - that it smell like something that I would actually wear and something that could evolve the fragrance industry,” said Trey Songz.

Songz is to be featured prominently in ads for the fragrance, the latest tier in the fashion and lifestyle companies family of brands.

Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Trey Songz and Ciara 'Get Schooled'

Entertainers Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Trey Songz and Ciara all helped launch the Get Schooled Foundation's "Wake Up and Get Schooled" campaign this week. Celebrities record phone calls that will be played for young students in the mornings that encourage them to start their day and get to school.

“The pre-recorded messages, running throughout the school year until June 2012, stress the importance of getting up and going to school every day," according to Executive Director Marie Groark. "Studies show that students with more than 10 absences in a school year risk falling behind. Students with more than 20 absences have only a one-in-five chance of graduating.”

“One of the key factors in students graduating and succeeding in their educational goals is merely getting them to campus in the first place," Executive Director Marie Groark, of the Get Schooled Foundation. "By using the power of celebrity and persuasion, we are encouraging students to wake up and get schooled!”

J. Cole Supports Singing Rappers

Rapper J. Cole shared his perspective on emcees who also dabble in vocalizing. Cole says people should be more open to rappers singing and vice versa, because its just another step in hip hop's ongoing evolution.

"I think it's dope [that some rappers sing and some singers rap]. Why not?," he said. "Who says Drake can't sing if he wants to sing? Who said Chris Brown can't rap if he wants to rap? It's just adding another facet to your style. It's just evolution man. The sad truth is, if some of our legends from the past came out now, people would think they were boring. You've just got to find a balance."

"I don't even think they take themselves seriously - they just want to come on," he added. " If I could sing, I would sing just like Chris Brown. Someone like Trey Songz, I feel like he genuinely loves rapping and that's fine. Some singers may not be your favorite rapper, but maybe they don't give a f**k and their rapping helps them express something they can't by singing."

Trey Songz Wants Album With Drake?

Trey Songz recently revealed who he would like to record a Watch the Throne-style collaborative album with. The R&B star said Canadian rapper Drake would be his ideal choice--but admitted that he wouldn't want to do a joint project just for the sake of doing one.

“When thinking along the lines of that, Drake is the first person that comes to mind that I am that musically comfortable with in that space,” he said. “He is a friend of mine as well, and I think we can pull something off like that could sound very authentic.”

“I mean, you got to look at (Kanye and Jay-Z) and see how long it took them to do it, you know?" he added. "So it has to be organic in whatever way it happens. It can’t be a business decision and you can’t look at it in a way of making it lucrative. I think it has to be something that you are definitely going into for music’s sake. It has to be something real, because if it’s not authentic you can hear it.”

Jessica White's Secret Weapon

Model Jessica White continues to be a champion for celibacy. The Sports Illustrated hottie has been previously linked with everyone from R&B heartthrob Trey Songz to Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn, but she says she's put her goodies away and no one is getting 'em any time soon.

She says she wants women to realize the power of their...um....lady parts.

"I’m not saying it so that all women can rally behind me and say, ‘Okay, yeah a vow of celibacy,'" White says. "I’m basically saying this to give women the strength to understand that we do connect physically too soon at times and it isn’t worth it. Make the man wait and if he’s worth it then he will wait for you. There’s no greater power in the world than that of a woman’s vagina. You hold the key to everything! Women, we are so strong! It took me so long to figure that out but I realized just how strong a woman is. The sensuality and the power that we have…if we withhold you can get that man to do whatever you want him to."

"I’m not saying it’s easy!" she added. "Not by any means, it is very difficult. My daddy used to tell my sisters. “Once you pop you can’t stop,” but it’s worth it, it is definitely worth it. I’m keeping my power to myself and my glow. I’m not giving anybody my glow anymore."

Jessica White On Celibacy

Swimsuit model Jessica White may be known for dating stars like Trey Songz and Sean Penn(?), but the brown-skinned beauty is letting everyone that nobody is getting her goodies again any time soon. White is currently celibate and shared her reasons for giving up 'giving it up.'

"Women nowadays, we connect physically too soon without actually getting to know the person," she says. "If you don’t actually give this person your body and then they let you down, there really isn’t a great disappointment; not like it would be if you have already connected physically. I started going on that journey, and I thought to myself, you know what, the next man that I give my body to will be the man that God brought into my life."

"I never said that I’m going to wait until marriage," she clarified. "I said it would be a man that I actually know is going to put a ring on my finger. It’s just about me connecting with God and God confirming that this is the man he has created for me. I’m a realist about it. People took that out of context. I said the next man that I sleep with hopefully will be my husband. That’s what I said and I meant that."

Lupe Fiasco's Album Sales Spike

Rapper Lupe Fiasco has seen his album sales spike after performing this past weekend at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles. His website traffic has also increased following the show. This year's MTV Movie Awards had 4.5 million viewers, the largest audience since 2004.

Lupe performed “Out of My Head” with Trey Songz and “The Show Goes On," from his current album Lasers, and the album jumped from #60 to #25 on Billboard.
