Nicki Minaj Talks Drake & Young Money

Nicki Minaj recently appeared on Funkmaster Flex's radio show on Hot 97 and the DJ asked her about labelmate Drake and his status with Cash Money Records. Nicki didn't give a straight answer, but indicated there may be an estrangement.
"[Drake's] so talented," she said. "Sometimes, we've seen this. Sometimes when you're really intelligent and you're really talented, you also think a lot. Sometimes your mind is racing with thoughts. It is what it is. People go through their own motions and you've gotta respect it and keep it moving. We all love the team. We all love Wayne. That's what's gonna always hold us together. Drake is my baby because that's how it was when we came in. So whenever I think of him, 'That's my baby.' Whatever is going on now, obviously we're all very busy and you know, shit happens. It gets a little hard to have a real connection when people are on different sides of the world, working on different things. You just never know who people got in their ear or what they're feeling or maybe they felt wronged in some way. I don't know. I just know that Drake is my baby and Wayne is my everything."

Nicki Minaj Says Lil Wayne Didn't Grope Her

Nicki Minaj had nothing but high praise for her Young Money boss, Lil Wayne, following Weezy's appearance in her sexy "High School" video. Despite Wayne's rep for being an uber-horndog, Nicki says he didn't try to cop a feel--not once.
“He refused to touch me, he’s so respectful, and then I was like, ‘Wayne,’ I was like, ‘You could do this,'" she told MTV. "But he was acting scared, like, ‘Yo, Nick, this is my dream. I’m gonna be a man after this video.’"
"He was just being crazy,” Minaj added. “But if I didn’t tell him ‘Yes, you can do this’ or ‘Touch this,’ he refused to do it, like he’s a southern gentlemen, which people don’t realize.”

Lil Wayne Responds To Luke

Veteran Miami rappers Trick Daddy and Luther "Luke" Campbell have both voiced their criticisms of hip-hop superstar Lil Wayne's recent disrespectful rant aimed at the Miami Heat. In an interview with 99 Jamz, Wayne was asked how he felt about Luke's opinion, in particular, and the YMCMB star was defiant.
“I can't change nobody's personal opinion. I can't change nobody's personal view,” said Wayne. “I can just keep doing what I do and keep putting food on the table for my family and that's what I'm going to do no matter what."
“I haven't [read Luke's letter], but I already know how he feels about me,” continued Wayne. “I've never met him actually. ...Ever since I got here, there were billboards and signs saying, ‘Lil Wayne, Go Back Home,’ you know what I mean? And I didn't do anything.”
“This is Miami, I can't move,” Wayne added. “I got the best skate weather, ever, down here. ... Like I said, the main thing I really want to get out there is that I do apologize for the misunderstanding to the city of Miami. I love everyone here, it's just I'm passionate about sports and I felt very disrespected, that's all. I felt very, very disrespected.”

Lil Wayne Hates NYC

Lil Wayne has a somewhat sketchy history with New York City; and in a recent interview, the YMCMB superstar admitted that he has no love for the Big Apple. Wayne was arrested and sentenced for gun charges in New York City; and his labelmate Nicki Minaj was insulted by Peter Rosenberg at the Hot 97 Summer Jam in NYC this year.
He said that Nicki's recent show at the Roseland Ballroom made up for the ugly incident at Summer Jam, but he still has a bad taste towards the city.
"Flat out, I don't like New York," he said. "The whole Summer Jam/Nicki thing, I can't really remember the situation, but I know it was my call. As far as last week['s show], last week was awesome. I think everything happens for a reason, and I think when people say that, you're not supposed to leave it at, 'Everything happens for a reason.' I believe everything happens for a reason and then you make the most of that reason. I think we made the most of it last week."

Trey Songz - Hail Mary Ft. Young Jeezy & Lil Wayne (Official Video)

Im watching the new Trey Songz “Hail Mary” video and who do I see? Stevie J and Joseline Hernandez. All I can do is laugh, because Stevie J poses and does that face that is all over instagram, and tells the girls “I do not want to send you to the strip club … now tell Daddy you love me … and by the way, you look nice tonight”. Nice way to capitalize off Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Trey. Trey Songz new album Chapter V is in stores today.

Lil Wayne's Career Focus Is Changing

Lil Wayne's well-documented love for skateboarding continues to dominate his life. Reiterating statements he made earlier this year, Wayne spoke about his passion for boarding and said that he takes it more seriously than ever.
"You can ask anyone around here," said Wayne in the latest episode of Mountain Dew's "DEWeezy Stories" web series. "Does Wayne let anyone come to skate with him? They'll tell you 'No.'"
"I don't know. It's just something about conquering the whole idea of something difficult as riding a skateboard," he said. "That's what so great about skating to me. It's about challenge. It's about a physical challenge and mental. It's about a challenge in front of you that you actually say to yourself, 'This can't be done. It can't be done by me.'" "I really found a second love," he added. "And music is in trouble. Because I'm in love with this skateboarding sh*t."

Nicki Minaj Ready To Battle Lil Wayne

Nicki Minaj issued a playful challenge to her Young Money captain, Lil Wayne. With Wayne launching his Trukfit clothing line and Nicki also planning to throw her hat into the fashion game; Minaj says that Wayne should be scared of her as competition.
"The other day, me and Wayne were bashing each other. He was telling me that my clothing line better not copy off of his clothing line. And I was like, "Excuse me?" And he was just like bragging about his clothing line is at Macy's and we were just cracking up laughing. It's like, I'm so super proud of this man," she said. "I feel like there's nothing he can't do. Everything he does, he wins at it. His clothing line - my guy friends, you know, are already rocking Trukfit. It's interesting because things really happen overnight nowadays but, best believe, when my clothing line comes, I'm going to blow him out the park and he's probably going to be coming asking me for a job."
"I got this on tape! The Barbz will be able to see the full, full Nicki Minaj vs. Lil Wayne clothing line clash convo on tape for them to witness. It's gonna be really, really fun," Minaj added. "He's super-duper supportive and I told him that the next time I go to Macy's, I'm going to spend like a billion dollars - I don't care what I have on my credit card or in my pocketbook, I'm gonna buy every last ounce of Trukfit in the store. And he was like, "Yeah, I'm not sending you no Trukfit, I'm not sending it to you for free - you gotta go buy it, you gotta support!" And you know what, Wayne? Fine, I'm gonna support."

Pusha T Mocks Lil Wayne Beef

Pusha T is alternately downplaying and fanning of the flames of his alleged beef with Young Money and fellow rapper Lil Wayne. The G.O.O.D. Music star has stated that he has no issue, but in a recent interview, Pusha was dismissive of Wayne's antagonism.
Nonetheless, Pusha made it clear that things aren't friendly.
"Ain't no problem, what you mean?" Pusha asked in an interview. "[He said 'F*ck' me?] That's tough, right? It's a lot of tough talk, ain't it? Eh man, it don't even matter, I just make music that touch your soul. You know, if Cinderella put on that glass slipper, then that's just what she do."

Lil Wayne Prepping Album

Lil Wayne is hard at work on his follow-up to Tha Carter IV. The Young Money head honcho revealed in an interview with MTV News that he is taking his time on the project, after what he felt was a rushed release the last time out.
"I Am Not A Human Being II, that's what I'm workin' on right now, actually I'm finished," he explained. "The difference between [this] album and the lastI Am Not a Human Being would be the music wasn't rushed."
"Last time the music was rushed because I had to take that eight-month vacation on that island so we had rushed the music, but this time we didn't rush the music," he added.

Peter Rosenberg Replies To Lil Wayne

Radio personality Peter Rosenberg addressed Lil Wayne's statements regarding Hot 97's Summer Jam and Rosenberg's criticisms of Nicki Minaj. Earlier this week, Wayne explained his decision to have YMCMB's Minaj cancel her performance at Summer Jam as his reaction to Rosenberg's 'disrespect' of Minaj as a woman and as an artist. But Rosenberg scoffed at Wayne's reasoning that 'women should be respected at all times,' and dismissed what he felt was hypocrisy on Wayne's part.
"Lil Wayne thinks that I don't show respect for women," said Rosenberg said live on the air. "Wayne is right about something--Women are mothers, are sisters, are daughters. But I have a question. Is me giving my opinion that one song is wack, is that showing a lack of respect for women? ... I don't know if Weezy F. should be giving me lessons on respect for women. Weezy F.--the F doesn't stand for feminist, alright. ... Clearly the logical thing is let's get the word of respect for women from the woman at the center of it all...clearly Nicki Minaj, she understands respect for women. Instead of talking to everyone else about Hot 97, how about the good people at Young Money just come on down and come see us and talk to us?"
