Soulja Boy Removes His Face Tattoos

Soulja Boy is bucking against the face tattoo trend. The rapper shared that he was getting several of his face tats removed during a recent trip to New York City. Face tattoos have become more prevalent among rappers in the past year, but many have speculated that the trend could hurt some artists' marketing cache.

Either way, Soulja Boy says he's done with the face ink.

"Just woke in New York its a good day bless everybody reading this tweet live it up," he tweeted. "I'm getting my face tattoos removed today."

Rick Ross' Face Tattoo

In what is probably one of the worst fads in the history of hip hop--yet another rapper has joined the ranks of the facially-tattooed. None other than Miami's own Rick Ross has gotten "Cazal" on the left side of his face. That's the popular eyewear company, for those unfamiliar. Ross reportedly has a large vintage Cazal collection; which of course makes getting it tattooed on his face completely understandable. Yung LA, Diamond and Gucci Mane are among the rappers who previously got face tattoos earlier this year.

Diamond Joins Face Tat Movement

Yet another rapper has gotten a silly tattoo on their face. Diamond, formerly of Crime Mob, has gotten a large bullet inked onto the side of her face. She joins Gucci Mane (ice cream cone) and Yung LA (a large duck, now a large 'LA' logo) in the ever-growing list of Atlanta rap stars with borderline-ridiculous face art. All three of them got the tattoos in the past three months.

"IN LIFE: You only get ONE SHOT!!!!!! Remember dat," Diamond tweeted while she was getting inked.

This is one fad that needs to end, like...yesterday.

Yung LA Covers Face Tattoo

Rapper Yung LA made headlines last month when he got a large duck tattoo on his face. The Atlanta rap star has decided to make a change, however, and had the tattoo covered up with a larger 'LA' tattoo that resembles the logo of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Rumors have surfaced that LA was involved in an altercation with Duct Tape Entertainment, with artists such as signee Alley Boy refuting any notion that LA's duck tattoo signified any ties to the camp. LA was allegedly told to remove the misleading symbol from his face.

Yung LA has yet to give any 'official' reason as to the change. "We ain't trying to put no negative energy out. I just gave [Duct Tape Ent] a big up, a shoutout. Real n****s do real sh**, the duck come off," Yung LA explained as he was getting the new tattoo.
