Evelyn Is Back On "Basketball Wives"

It looks the former Mrs. Ochocinco/Johnson will be back on "Basketball Wives."
Evelyn Lozada confirmed that she's coming back to the scandal-heavy reality show with a tweet that seemed to express excitement and apprehension.
“The time has finally arrived tweeps! I’m heading to film BBW5 Miami !” said Lozada. “Let us pray.”
Lozada had a well-publicized marriage, domestic abuse incident and divorce from NFL star Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson this past summer.
“Great first day filming with my boo Shaunie O’neal. 1 down 3 more months to go… yikes,” said Lozada.

"Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" Sparks Petition

It looks "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" has caused a stir among some folks. An online petition has surfaced calling out VH1 for the controversial half soap/half reality show.
"After we made a ruckus about Basketball Wives, sponsors began to pull ads. Well, it’s that time again, folks!
While we should respect the perceptions and experiences of the men and women featured on “reality” television shows, networks are airing stories that could be very helpful for people to hear, but they’re telling these stories in EXTREMELY dangerous ways.
We all know premium digital crack rock is ‘slanged’ in digital hoods other than VH1. We also know the problem is not just TV–it’s a big, mean, social monster that we’ve gotta shoot down one non-violent bullet at a time. Nevertheless, somebody’s gotta be the face of this lovely movement. And since VH1 has chosen to give us yet another beautifully-blinged jewel of commercial exploitation (Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta), they might as well be the face of change. By the way, shout out to all African Americans who received Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as their Juneteenth gift! You won and lost at the same time!
As we work toward national- and local-level change, let’s tell VH1 and their sponsors (again) why people from a broad range of backgrounds will NOT stand for the exploitation of the lived experiences of people who may not even know they’re being exploited. This isn’t a “Black or White” thing, this is a HUMAN thing…and we should all understand.
P.S. That “turn of the TV/your kids’ TV if you don’t want to watch” argument doesn’t work here, VH1. A good number of the kids who are most at risk don’t have the luxury of living with parents who can just “turn off the TV”. Why? Because their parents are out working multiple jobs (thanks to this lovely thing called poverty); one or both parents are on drugs, dead, or in jail; or they’re raised by ill grandparents, relatives who aren’t that interested in their future, or foster parents who abuse them and only foster to collect a check."

Emily B. Won't Fight On TV

"Love & Hip Hop" star Emily B. says she isn't interested in adding to the growing number of ladies catfighting on national TV. Despite the hit shows' reputations for featuring female fisticuffs, Emily doesn't want to add to the stereotypes and cliches.
"There are a lot of women who fight on television and I promised myself that I would never do that. My advice to women who are put in bad situations in front of their kids is to shut down! You don't have to participate in the madness," she says. "One thing I teach my daughter is to have patience. I'm always calm and I speak to my kids in a calm tone. I never raise my voice to my daughter. Once you raise your voice, kids stop listening. If I ever need to raise my voice, my kids know I mean business."

Monica Supports "Basketball Wives"

While many people have been vocally critical of reality shows like VH1's "Basketball Wives," R&B singer Monica isn't one of them. The star, who also has appeared in a reality series, says that she understands that the "...Wives" are just one representation of one lifestyle.
"I respect the women on 'Basketball Wives' because I think that that’s their truth," she says. "It’s not different then if you take a group of men from a post office [or] you take a group of men from FEDex [or] the music industry; rappers, actors, whatever--and there will be different situations that may speak to each other and some of their situations are more similar. Mine is totally different but I respect them because they use that show as a platform to do other things that they love; they own stores, they own cosmetics, they own so many different things."

Laura Govan Blasts Shaunie O'Neal?

"Basketball Wives" star Laura Govan had some harsh words for fellow "BBW"er Shaunie O'Neal in a recent issue of J'Adore Magazine. Baby Mama to NBA star Gilbert Arenas, Govan blasted the former Mrs. Shaquille O'Neal for spreading rumors about Govan and her rumored past fling with Shaq.
“I don’t have a relationship with Shaunie and I never will," Govan said. "The information she was given about Shaq and I was false, and she took it and ran with it. I didn’t appreciate it at all and for that reason I will never speak to her again. I don’t have beef with her. If we see each other, I won’t chin check her, but that’s why I chose to do Basketball Wives LA. I wanted people to see exactly who I am opposed to what you heard on Season One: Miami. I mean, there were five grown women talking about me and they had no idea who I was. That was unfair, but it goes to show you where their mentality was.”

Evelyn Lozada In MAXIM?

"Basketball Wives" castmember Evelyn Lozada talked about her relationship with her boyfriend, NFL star Chad Ochocinco, in the recent issue of Maxim magazine. The sexy Rican revealed that Chad's BIG personality can be a nuisance sometimes and also revealed that his softer side is what wins her over.
"Chad is animated 24/7, and it drives me a little crazy sometimes," she says in the interview. "He’s very energetic with tons of jokes. But he’s not as arrogant and cocky as people think. When he’s home he’s very polite, and a gentleman. But he’s always on."
Evelyn says you won't be seeing her goodies on South Beach anytime soon, either. "I would never do that. Being topless on South Beach is not a good look," she shared, before admitting that her big-uns are quite lovely. "My breasts. They're pretty," she answered when asked about her best asset.
She also reminded everyone that her business savvy goes beyond being a famous baller's chick. When she was asked what else she would do outside of reality TV, her answer was to-the-point.
"Full-time entrepreneur," she answered. "Before 'Basketball Wives,' I was very busy in Miami with my shoe store, Dulce. I love shoes. And the only reason I signed on to do the show was to help promote my store. So if my life wasn’t so non-stop now, I would be at my store 24/7."

Rumors of a sex tape featuring "Basketball Wives L.A." star Draya Michele and her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown hit the web last week, and Michele is saying there is no truth to them. The reality show vixen is even threatening to sue if one turns up.
The two were an item in 2010, but Draya says they never filmed themselves having sex--at least not to her knowledge.
Breezy's reps also say there is no tape, but Draya has already contacted lawyers to go after whomever is spreading the story or to take down anyone that surfaces with a tape of her 'gettin' it in.'

"Bad joke..but alotta those wives would make me consider it," he said in regards to the suicide. When the media got wind of his joke, he fired another shot. "The lack of people caring about REAL issues has caused the media to focus on dumb s--t like TWITTER comments."

Evelyn Lozada Wants $20k Raise

Evelyn Lozada Wants $20k Raise
Apparently the going rate to employ loud-mouthed basketball wives is $20,000 per episode, at least that’s what it’s going to cost VH1 to keep Evelyn Lozada.
According to TMZ, Evelyn is refusing to shoot the next season of “Basketball Wives” until the home of reality television, VH1, coughs up some serious dough. Considering that until recently, her latest claim to fame was being Shaunie’s sidekick, we think Evelyn might want to keep her mouth shut and collect those checks. Reportedly each ‘cast member’ currently receives $7,500 an episode.
