Vanessa Simmons Gets Sexy

Rev. Run's oldest daughter, Vanessa Simmons, decided to sex things up a bit in her latest photo shoot. Don't worry--the preacher's daughter kept her clothes on; but she definitely brings the heat in a dark blue, skin-tight catsuit.
The sexy shoot was for "Today’s Black Woman Style Report."
Simmons is also looking to branch out on her own following she and lil sis Angela launching their successful Pastry brand. Vanessa is reportedly prepping her own lingerie line for launch later this year.
Some names for the line's various styles? “Naughty Lil’ Princess,” “Rock Your Sexy” and “Vintage Chic."

Diggy Simmons Explains J. Cole Diss

Diggy Simmons shared his reasoning for recording "What You Say to Me," a J. Cole diss track. The young rapper says that he was sticking up for his family and his sister, Vanessa--which is what his famous father, Rev. Run of Run-D.M.C., had previously stated regarding the song.
"[There's] no big story behind it, it was really just that my sister [Vanessa] over a year ago told me that [J. Cole] was saying that he did this, that and third with her, 'cus the went to the same college [St. John's], but they didn't really know each other like that, so it wasn't like that," Diggy said. "She also told me that he subliminally talked about her in a song called 'Purple Rain,' which was also false. So it was just me sticking up for my family, that's all that it really was. I didn't even leak it, it got leaked last night while I was at the movies…I did that record last year…I was gonna put it out, but I didn't feel like it was appropriate, but of course, that's my sister…family over everything."
"[My dad Reverend Run] had already heard the track and he was like the same thing: 'Family over everything, that's your sister,' so he wasn't mad at all," he added

Rev. Run Defends Diggy

The Diggy Simmons diss track "What You Say To Me?" has gotten the Internet a-buzzing. The J. Cole diss came as something of a shock to fans of the clean-cut teen rapper, but Diggy's dad, hip hop legend Rev. Run, has come to his son's defense.
Run says Diggy's song is an old recording and that there shouldn't be any controversy considering J. Cole has dissed Diggy and other members of the Simmons clan.
"J Cole.. Puts out 2 records Dissing family & Diggy & nobody cared.. Some1 leaks a old Diggy record & there's a problem?," he tweeted.
What else is Poppa gonna say?

DJ Khaled Discusses RZA & Rev. Run

DJ Khaled took part in BMI's "How I Wrote the Song" panel last weekend. Sitting alongside other musical heavyweights, Khaled's resume is as impressive as anyone's--but there were two hip hop icons that the Miami star felt the need to pay homage to. Khaled told HiphopDX that sharing time with RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan and Rev. Run of Run-D.M.C. made the experience uniquely special.
"That’s RZA from Wu Tang!" Khaled said enthusiastically. "For him to say that he wants to do some stuff with me is a blessing. He was a major influence on me as a producer and as an artist. He was a visionary. He was ahead of his time. He was so left field with his beats but they were so amazing. They’re timeless! You could listen to them now, from “Triumph” to “C.R.E.A.M.” and it’s just classic. It’s a blessing, man."
"On Rev Run’s situation, I would say “Peter Piper” is my favorite record of all time, actually," Khaled continued. "As a deejay, I used to love to cut it up and I still love to cut it up. The production, the breaks, from the intro, to [rhyming as Run], “Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good!” You know, that’s not a regular song. That’s a real special song. I’m excited. I might even ask him a few questions!

Angela Simmons Gets Naked?

Rev. Runs lil girl Angela Simmons bares it all in a new ad for PETA. Well, not really. But Ms. Simmons does go nude for the animal rights organization, without showing too much skin. She joins a long list of celebs, including Taraji P. Henson and Waka Flocka Flame recently, who have joined PETA's cause.
“As a devout Christian, I feel it’s very important to show compassion for all of God’s creation—and adopting a vegetarian diet is the best way to keep innocent animals from suffering," Simmons explains in the ad. "I eat pretty well, I’m a vegetarian. Hopefully I’ll be a vegan in a couple of years, but I’m taking it one step at a time. My uncle inspired me to become a vegetarian, a vegan, when I was young. He had me watch this video, I can’t remember the name of it, but I was only about 12 or 13 and he gave it to our family. No one else watched it except me."
"At that age, I tried to be a vegetarian and I couldn’t do it because I was in a family that ate so much meat," she continued. "But I finally made the change and it’s been like a year and a half now and I’m pretty proud of myself. I’m feeling good and I do work out a lot."
