Nicki Minaj Addresses Lil Kim Rumors

Nicki Minaj is still sharing her side of the story regarding her Hot 97 Summer Jam cancellation. Now, the Young Money superstar is addressing rumors that she planned to stage a mock Lil Kim funeral at the show. Kim tweeted about Minaj planning to bring veteran femcee (and former Kim rival) Foxy Brown onstage and accused Nicki of copying a similar performance recently where Kim brought out Eve and Missy.

"I reached out to her a few months ago […] [Foxy Brown] has always been a part of my line up and I’ve known I was doing summer Jam for maybe a year now, so people are very crazy to think that this is something that I just decided to do," Nicki told The Breakfast Club. "I’ve just always really loved her. I’ve always made it known how much I loved her and Lauryn Hill, and so when she found out about the drama, I thought she was going to be disappointed but instead she called me and was like ‘Yo Nick, I am riding with you, we are all here and were not leaving this hotel, we support your decision”, and that was how we all went out. Everyone came out to dinner with me that night and everyone supported the decision. Everyone was like. ‘Yo, Wayne was completely right and we made the right move.’"

Nicki wouldn't even let DJ Envy ask her about the mock funeral rumors.

"I don’t even want you to finish that sentence because that’s not in my character and that’s ridiculous," Nicki stated. "Lets stop with all the rumors that are giving people false hope that they are relevant please. I’m not about to bring death on my stage, my stage is about life and love and that’s it, PERIOD. It was about us bigging up each other, myself and Foxy. No one, who is irrelevant was going to be made relevant on my stage."

Nicki Minaj Wanted Lauryn Hill

Nicki Minaj landed some major hip hop notables for her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, but there was one legendary rhymer the Young Money starlet wanted to get on her project that, for whatever reason, wasn't able to come through.

In a recent interview, Minaj revealed that she sought out the ever-reclusive Lauryn Hill.

"You know I loved Lauryn, (she) was a goddess to me," said Minaj of Lauryn Hill. "I wanted to get her on 'Champions,' that'd have been crazy, right?"

A lot of Lauryn fans may balk at the idea of an L-Boogie/Barbie collaboration, but it would've been interesting, to say the least.

Lauryn Hill Bombs Again?

Lauryn Hill had another awkward stage performance this week. Hill was a last-minute performer at the Cape Town Jazz Festival in South Africa--replacing fellow soul star Jill Scott. According to reports, Hill--who often performs altered arrangements of her most well-known songs--drew the crowd's ire due to their unfamiliarity with her set.

She also complained about sound issues; even leaving the stage at one point.

In the middle of her show, fans reportedly began walking out of her performance and going to the other four stages. There were numerous postings on social media sites about the show.

Red Cafe's Favorite Ladies

Brooklyn rapper Red Cafe revealed who some of his favorite females in entertainment are currently. While discussing who his famous celebrity crush is, Cafe also shared what artists of the fairer sex he'd like to get into the studio with.

"I listen to Sade. I'm a big Prince fan. Their melodies triggers things that make me feel like maybe I can do something like that," he revealed. "[If I could collab with any pop artist?] I like Katy Perry. I think we'd make a hot record. [Celebrity crushes?] Zoe Saldana is hot. I like clever, not slick women. I'm very easily turned off."

"I think me and Lauryn Hill could make a great, classic record," he added. "I'm a fan of great artists and music, so for you to stay relevant and I've been around for a long time so for me to still be relevant, you have to be a fan. I listen to everything and then I take things that I need to take from it to inspire me, which I think is necessary."

Lauryn Hill Sued By Stylist

Lauryn Hill is being sued by a former fashion consultant who styled her during her 2007 European tour. Davia Vintage filed suit against the former Fugee, saying that Ms. Hill never returned clothes that she outfitted for her during the tour.

Vintage gave Ms. Hill “an entire wardrobe of high fashion items” and says that there was an agreement to pay a fixed weekly fee for a month. According to Vintage, after the timeframe elapsed, Hill kept the clothes for three months and only paid a fraction of what she owed.

Vintage also is accuses Lauryn of returning only 30 percent of what was provided. The 2007 tour has become a source of constant controversy for Hill, who was also sued by a former member of her band from the tour who claimed she had refused to pay once the jaunt was over.

Lauryn Hill Defends Rohan Marley

Lauryn Hill has issued a statement attempting clarify the reports that her longtime on-again, off-again lover Rohan Marley abandoned her while she was pregnant. Marley isn't the father of Hill's newborn son, but she doesn't say who is nor does she say whether or not they are currently together.

"Mr. Marley and I have a long and complex history about which MANY inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning," the statement reads. "To speculate without the facts can only cause people to form WRONG conclusions. We both value privacy and for that reason defend and preserve our right to it. Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child. We have had long periods of separation over the years but our 5 children together remain a joy to both of us. Thank you for your concern and I appreciate all of the well wishes regarding the birth of my new son."

Lauryn Hill Had Sixth Baby?

Anonymous sources are claiming that soul singer/rapper Lauryn Hill gave birth to a baby boy this past weekend. On July 23rd, L-Boogie reportedly had her sixth child. She's kept mum on who the little one's father is, after it was revealed last month that her long-term boyfriend Rohan Marley is not the dad.

But according to an anonymous source for Black Celeb Kids, Lauryn and her newborn are healthy and resting.

"Mother and baby are fine,” says the source, who adds that Hill and family “had a little scare because the baby came out the womb with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. All is well now and everyone is happy.”

Rohan Marley On Dating Lauryn

Rohan Marley made headlines last month when he tweeted categorically that he was not the father of singer/songwriter Lauryn Hill's unborn baby. The two have been together for years and have five children together, but many fans were surprised to learn that they were never legally married. This revelation led to some questions as to whether or not Rohan dated Lauryn while he was still legally married to his previous wife.

Marley denies that he was ever 'doubling-up' on wives.

“When I’m in a committed relationship with one woman, I’m just with that one woman!" Marley clarified. "Miss Hill and I are happy with the five kids we have together. She speaks for herself and any other questions regarding her personal life should be directed towards her."

Rohan Marley Denies Lauryn Hill

Just a few days after it was announced that she was pregnant with her sixth child, the latest twist in the never-ending drama that is the personal life of Lauryn Hill took another unexpected turn. Rohan Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley and father to her five children, revealed via Twitter that he is not the father of her unborn baby and they were never married, as had been believed by most media and fans.

“2 things, I’m not married and I don’t have anyone expecting anything," Marley tweeted to HipHopWired, to which Clutch Magazine editor Britni Daniels replied, "So we are clear: You’re not married to your ex-wife OR Lauryn, and 2) she’s not preggo w/ your child, but someone else’s?"

"That’s correct, until I say out of my mouth to the contrary," Marley replied. "Trust me, the info out there has been so incorrect for so many years."

Lauryn Hill Pregnant Again?

Lauryn Hill looks to be expected her sixth child. This is according to reports from Detroit's 102.7 FM. Lauryn performed at Chene Park for about an hour in Detroit and allegedly made the announcement as she was preparing to exit the stage.

Ms. Hill had previously hinted at her possibly being with child yet again during a show in Los Angeles last month.

“I keep having these children," she said then. "I don’t know if I’m the most fertile woman in America. I’ve got five big children, you believe that? If you ask anybody I went to high school with, they’d be like puzzled… Wait till you hear the big secret though.”

Producer Promises Fugees Reunion

Producer Jerry Wonda recently shared his belief that the Fugees would be reuniting. Beyond belief, really--Wonda all but guaranteed that the group would be working together again. Wonda worked with the group in it's heyday and seemed certain than fans can expect Wyclef, Lauryn and Pras to make music as a unit again.

"I believe there will be a day when the Fugees get together, but everyone in the group's gotta be ready," he told Rap-Up. "The Fugees are definitely going to get back together. The time will come. You've gotta wait, man...I could tell you that the old days were lovely, and if I could go back again, I definitely would. But it's a whole new era for me right now."

Lauryn Hill's Daughter In Teen Vogue

Lauryn Hill's twelve year old daughter Selah is appearing in the April 2011 issue of Teen Vogue. Hill's daughter with Rohan Marley, Selah also reveals that she wants to follow her mother, father and legendary grandfather, Bob Marley, into music.

Selah is also a big fan of Justin Bieber and avid student.

"Singing is my favorite thing to do," she says in the magazine. "One day I hope to get signed to a record label."
