B.o.B. Staying Out of Iggy/Banks Beef

B.o.B. steered clear of adding any fuel to the fire of the Iggy Azalea/Azealia banks beef. Iggy and B.o.B. are both part of the Grand Hustle family, but B.o.B. says he isn't interested in jumping into the middle of any feud. Grand Hustle head T.I. has already gotten himself in the middle of hip hop's current catfight, but don't expect Bobby Ray to go there.
"I'm definitely always gonna ride for my team, always. There's no doubt in mind, but as an individual you have to understand what is your business and what isn't your business," he explained. "Now, if something spills over into my court, then I have to handle my business. But as of yet I really don't attract that type of energy to myself."

B.o.B. Praises T.I.'s Latest Work

Rapper B.o.B. is riding on the recent release of his sophomore album, Strange Clouds, but the Grand Hustle artist took the time to praise the work of his labelhead, T.I. Bobby Ray says that T.I.'s upcoming work is especially impressive and acknowledges Tip's growth.
"The Trouble Man is amazing," B.o.B said in an interview. "Tip, with each album he always gets better. Each album is always a progression of where he was and this one isn't any different. He's really grown as an artist. Even me, growing up in Atlanta, I remember being a fan of Trap Musik -- so, to be able to become so evolved and be able to work so closely to his project, as well as be a part of Grand Hustle, means a lot to me."
"We gotta great f*cking team, a great dream team," B.o.B. added. "We go hard in the paint, f*ck what the naysayers say. They don't determine the outcome -- we determine the outcome."

Atlanta rapper B.o.B released his sophomore album Strange Clouds yesterday (May 1st) and celebrated the release with a bash in New York City. Several notables showed up to the soiree at TriBeCa Rooftop, which was sponsored by Target.
“I can appreciate the art and creativity that B.o.B puts into his music and art,” host Sway told AllHipHop. “You can’t put a guy like him in a box. He’s creative as an artist but if you step to him he will slay that ass lyrically.”
The rapper shared his enthusiasm with all in attendance.
“You are a part of music history tonight,” B.o.B. told the crowd.

B.o.B. Working With Taylor Swift

B.o.B will be working with country pop superstar Taylor Swift, which comes on the heels of Swift's live appearances with the Grand Hustle rapper and label head T.I. Tip himself confirmed that the rapper and the singer would be working together--despite B.o.B.'s attempts to keep mum about it.
“I can neither confirm nor deny such allegations,” said B.o.B. “I can. I heard it,” added T.I. “Taylor’s extended Hustle Gang. She’s a part of the crew. She just ain’t got her dog tags yet, but she’s a part of the crew now.”
“She came to Atlanta and she hit up Grand Hustle,” he said. “I wasn’t there. Tip was there and I eventually linked with her in Dallas and the rest is history.”

B.o.B. On Tyler 'Beef:

B.o.B. wasn't too invested in his brief 'beef' with Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All frontman Tyler, the Creator. The Grand Hustle rapper said that he isn't interested in feuding with other rappers.
Bobby Ray downplayed the Tyler situation's seriousness and the entire idea of beefs.
"He just heard me on the radio rapping about whatever the f*ck I was rapping about and was like, 'Who the f*ck is this guy?'" B.o.B said. "And it ended up in his lyrics. I didn't think it was gonna escalate. The whole beef thing is kinda lame. It's like 'F*ck this, f*ck that!' I'm not gonna walk around the earth mad at some random person. It's pointless."

SOPA/PIPA Sparks Hip Hop Artists

SOPA/PIPA legislation has been decried by Internet users and websites like Wikipedia and Facebook, who believe it will only lead to censorship and information restrictions online. With many sites 'going black' yesterday (January 18) in protest of SOPA (the Stop Online Piracy Act), several hip hop artists also voiced their opinion on the issue.
"I'm not usually into politics but .... this has gone too far... we have to fight for our freedom," B.o.B. tweeted. "How do you guys feel about this?"
"This a blow to the heart of the American people who have been able to put food on the table from the opportunities provided by web." he added.
Pop rap star Kreayshawn also tweeted about SOPA. "#StopSOPA #STOPSOPA #stopsopa," she tweeted. "Don't let the government take away our power to share art, music, creativity and individualism. #StopSOPA"
Hip hop veteran MC Hammer rallied in San Francisco and spoke out against the legislation. "We don't want people who spend their days legislating trying to control creativity," he said. "I speak on behalf of a lot of artists ... who would like to be able to continue to utilize the valuable tools that the Internet has brought."

B.o.B. Discusses Joint Project With T.I.

B.o.B. revealed that he and fellow Atlanta rap superstar are working on a joint album. The news comes after weeks of speculation that the two Grand Hustle rappers would be releasing a Watch the Throne-esque project together.
“Me and Tip working on The Man & The Martian project…It’s a collab album. You know, just something to have fun with. We actually have several songs,” B.o.B told Hot 97. “We actually have been talking about this for a while. Now that he’s back and we got time to record it’s a lot easier to manifest.”
He also discussed working with Lil Wayne on the single “Strange Clouds.”
“I felt like I needed to get somebody on the record who would really bring to life even more the concept of ‘Strange Clouds,’" B.o.B. said. "And the extraterrestrial side of it."

Yelawolf On Possible B.o.B. Joint Mixtape:

Yelawolf On Possible B.o.B. Joint Mixtape:
Alabama rapper Yelawolf says that he could possibly be recording mixtape projects with fellow southern emcees B.o.B. and Big K.R.I.T. in the near future. He says that his schedule has made it difficult to get things worked out officially, but he wants to work with both rappers.
“Ah man, I would love to do some records with Bob, but dude is super busy," he says. "Now, I’m getting busier and busier so it’s just hard to make things like that happen. When me and K.R.I.T. were coming up with the concept to do a mixtape, we weren’t even on tour. We kind of let time just slip by and we just both got stupid busy. We’re still trying to make that happen. I think it’s going to happen. When, I don’t know, but him and I work really quick. K.R.I.T. makes crazy beats. He’s so super inspiring to be around. Once we lock down and work on it, it’ll get done pretty quick. For all the people waiting for it, it’ll be worth the wait. I’ll say that.”
“If we make something that feels like an album, then that’s something we’ll consider, to put it out on the shelves," he added. "But for now, in my mind, who knows? At first it was supposed to be for free. We might stick with that, or if we put together a project we feel is worth buying, we’ll put it on the shelves. Either way, it’s going to be banging.”

B.o.B. Says He's Ready

Rapper B.o.B. sounds confident as he continues to work on his sophomore album. The Atlanta native says that he's gone through several phases creatively--but he's more focused on lyricism and rapping right now. He acknowledges that he went through a phase where he was more focused on singing and 'alternative' music styles.
But he says he's refocusing his energy now.
"For me I feel like I been going through phases. And I feel like I'ma always go through phases," he explained in an interview. "When I first started the first song I ever released was 'Cloud 9.' And that was like a smoker's anthem. The first whole half of the song I was just singing on it -- I kinda went through that phase. Went through [an] alternative phase where all I wanted to do was make rock music. Now I just feel like rapping. I feel like naturally I'ma sing, throw a melody here and there but I'm in emcee mode now....Man we gonna get that [out] I'ma say, March. I'm aiming for early March. I don't wanna say too much."

B.o.B. Going Nashville?

B.o.B. Going Nashville?
Rapper B.o.B. has revealed an interest in stepping outside of his alt-rap roots and trying on another genre. The Atlanta native says that he would love to work on a country project. He also revealed that he would like to produce 'meditation' music.
"I want to produce a country album for a country singer," B.o.B. explained in an interview. "I feel like country music has a certain kind of pocket. It all sonically [comes together]. Are you ready to get satisfied sonically?"
"And then I want to do an album that is completely meditation music," he added. "It's going to be like a little project. It won't just be for people who like to sleep to it, meditate or are into yoga. It'll be like even if you weren't into all that, you'll be listening to it and thinking: 'Man this is dope, yeah!'"

B.o.B.'s Manager Discusses Wale Beef

B.o.B.'s Manager Discusses Wale Beef
There were reports that rapper B.o.B. refused to perform at a Washington, D.C. event if fellow rapper Wale was present. B.o.B.'s manager B. Rich is now addressing the rumors. According to Rich, the entire thing was misreported and a misunderstanding.
"As a manager I didn't want Bob to go on after Wale in his hometown at the birthday bash," he told XXL. "There's no beef, that's our n*gga, we wanted to bring him out during our set. Bob has no idea what's going on. He don't mind going on after or before anybody, this is a decision I made [as a manager]."

B.o.B. Finishing His 2nd Album

B.o.B. Finishing His 2nd Album
B.o.B. says that he's hard at work on his follow-up to 2010's Adventures of Bobby Ray. The rapper didn't give too many details and kept mum on the title, but he did say he's been working on it since before his debut was released and he's at the midway point.
"I feel like I'm about halfway through it, and I wouldn't even say because of how many songs I have," said B.o.B in an interview. "It's kinda like as an artist you absorb, it's like a sponge, you absorb it and then you gotta give it back out. I still feel like I got more to put out. I got more to say. So I can record songs all day, but until I get everything out that I want to say, that's pretty much what the wait is...I feel like it's all about timing -- It's the right timing and I haven't revealed the name of the album yet, but I've been working on this since before The Adventures of Bobby Ray, so it's a real special project."

Rakim Discusses Hip Hop

Rakim Discusses Hip Hop
When a hip hop icon like Rakim offers his perspective on the state of the game, heads tend to pay attention. The Microphone Fiend opened up about the current climate in the genre, and while he praised certain artists for their creativity, he was frank in his criticisms of hip hop music circa 2011.
"It's hard," Rakim says. "The conscious level is definitely low and the substance of the music is so much lighter, but you have to understand the game is young in new places. It's still growing...We really need some of that consciousness, that fly on the wall that watches over us and comments. I like B.o.B. and Lupe Fiasco a lot, they're both exploring the music, but I don't see a lot of artistry out there."

B.o.B. Vs. Odd Future

B.o.B. Vs. Odd Future
Rapper B.o.B. didn't take too kindly to a line from Odd Future frontman Tyler, the Creator from the song "Yonkers." On the track, Tyler spit "I'll crash that f**kin airplane that that fa**ot n*gga Bob was in," a jab at B.o.B. and his chart-busting hit "Airplanes."
In response, B.o.B. has released "No Future," aimed at Tyler and his hip hop collective, Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. Tyler noticed the song and took to Twitter to give his opinion on it.
Whoa. I Don't Think The 'No Future' Song Is Even A Diss. But, Ive Never Heard Him Spit Like That. Took Me By Surprise, Cus Its Tight," Tyler tweeted. "Still Hate That Airplanes Song Tho. It Has The Same Chord Progression As F*cking 'Love The Way You Lie' And That One Song By Katy Perry."
