KISS bassist Gene Simmons isn't a big fan of the current wave of sexy pop stars dominating the charts. During a press conference for the upcoming tour featuring KISS and Motley Crue, Simmons took a shot at Rihanna and other music he deems 'fake.'
“We’re sick and tired of girls getting up there with dancers and karaoke tapes in back of them,” Simmons said. “No fake bullsh*t. Leave that to the Rihanna, Shmianna and anyone who ends their name with an ‘A’.”
Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee cosigned Simmons.
“No disrespect to Rihanna, she’s a great singer, but we’re in a slump for some s—that has some personality and appeal beyond a bunch of pop stuff that’s floating around out there,” Lee told Billboard. “I’m glad he said that actually because I don’t think I can bear watching another f—ing award show that is just a little bit better than American Idol. It’s f—ing pathetic to watch people go out and f—ing karaoke with a bunch of lights and video,” he added. “It’s all completely watered down.”
Didn't these guys were makeup and crazy costumes? Who can they call fake, really?
