Turk To Be Released From Prison

New Orleans rapper Turk is finally slated to be released from prison. The former Hot Boy has served nearly nine years behind bars after being convicted for weapons violations. He will be released on October 12, 2012.
Turk, born Tab Vigil, was a member of the Cash Money Records supergroup The Hot Boys from 1996 until 2001. The group also included label stars Juvenile, B.G., and a teenage Lil Wayne. His career faltered after the incident in 2004 that led to his prison sentence. The rapper was present during a police shootout in an apartment in Memphis, Tennessee.
Turk's attorneys argued that the rapper did not injure any of the police officers involved in the gun battle and was merely hiding in a closet as the violence unfolded.
