Hip hop mogul Russell Simmons has weighed in on Irv Gotti's prospective chances of heading Def Jam as president. Simmons founded the iconic label in the mid-80s alongside Rick Rubin, and Gotti has been vocally pining for the President's seat.
Simmons says he supports Gotti and a handful of others.
"I like Irv," Simmons said. "I'd co-sign him. I like a lot of people lobbying. I like Irv, I like [DJ] Khaled. I'd co-sign [Violator Management President] Chris Lighty. These three people, I'd co-sign any of them in a second.
