The funeral for "Mother of Hip Hop" Sylvia Robinson, legendary Sugarhill Records founder, will take place on October 11th in Englewood, New Jersey. Robinson's services will be held at the Community Baptist Church. Robinson passed away last week at the age of 75. She founded Sugarhill Records, hip hop's first label, and launched the recording careers of the Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Funky Four+One and several other hip hop pioneers. Sylvia Robinson's funeral will take place at 6:30 PM at community Baptist Church in Inglewood, while the burial will take place at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. |
