Young Money rapper Drake has expressed his admiration for late R&B star Aaliyah in numerous interviews in the past. The superstar took his admiration a step further this weekend--by having the "One In A Million" singer's face tattooed on his back. The rapper displayed the new tattoo while playing tennis in a recent photo. “I’ve never lost a parent, a friend, or a lover but I will never forget this day for the rest of my life," he wrote earlier this year in a letter dedicated to Aaliyah. "I remember getting the news that you had passed and it connected with my heart like a clean shot from Muhammad Ali. I was crushed.” |

No one knows if he knew her or if he has any relation to her. Aaliyah's death touched many in many different ways she was then and still is my favorite singer. I remember waking up & turning on the radio and hearing the news I immediately fell into tears I dint believe it until I saw the plane crashed later on that day I cried for days it was just like losing one of my family members. As I said before no one knows his relations to her so stop commenting on what you do not know, RIP baby girl

It's actually nothing like tatooing MLK on you ... MLK represents a global ideology; a legacy that, even right now in 2011, still makes it possible for people of color to make idiotic moves based boneheaded decisions ... Just like what Drake just did. To compare, Tattooing Dr. King on your body is more like saying I honor the struggle and I commit to the fight.
