A New Jersey concert featuring Bad Boy rapper French Montana ended in tragedy this weekend when a man was stabbed to death. Police claim that Montana, who was a surprise performer, arrived at the Mirage Banquet Hall in Edison, NJ with an entourage of about 40 people. Several members of the group became agitated when they weren't allowed into the hall's VIP section.
“Everyone was enjoying themselves,” Mirage’s co-owner Shaun Mehtani told The Star-Ledger. “The trouble began when his entourage arrived.”
Mehtani says that Montana's crew incited a scuffle with patrons, which led to the party ending early. In the parking lot, fights erupted--and 21 year old Jayson Perry was stabbed to death.
Another individual was shot in the melee.
Edison and Middlesex authorities have opened an investigation into the incident.
