Jennifer Hudson Was Almost "Precious?"

Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson revealed that she turned down the chance to star in one of the most critically-acclaimed (and controversial) movies of the past few years; Hudson passed on the chance to star in Precious. In a recent interview, J-Hud says she was considered for the role, but didn't want to risk being type cast for the rest of her career.

"I had done that with Effie… and as much as I was moved by this film," she says. "I wanted to try a role that had nothing whatsoever to do with my weight.”

Hudson has slimmed down significantly since her scene-stealing and award-winning turn as larger-than-life soul singer Effie White in 2007s Dreamgirls.
