Apple Wins, Game Over

Some people believe that iPhone 5, which is expected to launch in September or, perhaps, October, will be a radical departure. Others believe it will be a more muted development.
However, when this video of a concept iPhone 5 emerged, it allowed people to dream, which is something people do better than, well, live. So, with more than 6 million YouTubers now having stared at this thing, created by the 3D animated folks at Aatma Studio, the time has come to decide what this might be.

It's clearly not iPhone 5. It's a lot thinner than the MacBook Air and more bracingly exciting than skinny-dipping with beach volleyballers of your target sex. Bathe in the imagination of the laser keyboard. Marvel at the ingenuity of the hologram display, which comes at you and projects itself into your life. Yes, you might wish to wonder just what kind of battery could possibly support this amount of frenzy. But, let's be scientific here. How possible might it be that this would be, say, iPhone 8 or iPhone 9? Just imagine if someone left this little bundle of joy in a bar. Would we ever hear the last of it? Would humanity ever be the same again?

Bruno Mars Suing Publisher

Bruno Mars Suing Publisher
Singer/songwriter Bruno Mars has filed a lawsuit against Bug Music, Inc., the company that publishes his music. He is suing the publisher for allegedly violating the stipulations of his contract. Mars says that he has completed the terms of the deal, but Bug Music refuses to let him out of his contract.
Documents from the Los Angeles County Superior Court indicate that Bug Music will not release Mars. According to the contract, Bug required the singer to release a certain amount of music and once this had been satisfied, Bug had a limited amount of time to offer to renew its contract with Mars.
Mars says that he met Bug's requirements back in February, yet the company failed to renew his contract in the agreed upon amount of time. Bug disputes this, claiming that Mars has not completed his deal. They also currently have access to 50% of his music.

Pauly D & 50 Cent Working On Music

Pauly D & 50 Cent Working On Music
DJ Pauly D may have surprised many when it was announced he was joining 50 Cent's G-Unit label, but the "Jersey Shore" star is dead serious about his career on the label. Pauly revealed recently that he is focused solely on recording and is working closely with 50 himself on projects.
He says that the two of them are currently working on an album.
"I'm focusing on music. That's my my passion. I'm working with 50 Cent now. I'm gonna do an album with him. It's going to be a little bit of everything," Pauly D tells Billboard. "It's almost like DJ Khaled and kind of David Guetta but my own DJ Pauly D style."

Jazzy Jeff Talks Fresh Prince's Return

Jazzy Jeff Talks Fresh Prince's Return
Reports of rapper-turned-actor Will Smith returning to hip hop were amplified after Smith made an appearance in his hometown of Philadelphia to pay tribute to Philly rap pioneer Lady B. The former Fresh Prince's partner-in-crime, DJ Jazzy Jeff, shared a little information regarding Smith's new music.
"The creative juices are going," Jeff told AllHipHop. "He was actually supposed to pop up with me at a few tour dates and I know he's prepping for a new movie, but he showed up at Lady B's show in Philly, he showed up and got up and rocked and I was really disappointed I couldn't be there. It was kind of like me and Doug E got a fast food job and only one of us could call out and Doug E called out before I did, and it hurt because it was in my hometown, but Will did "Brand New Funk," "Summertime," "La Di Da Di," so we chipping away, he wants to do it."
It was revealed earlier this summer that Smith has begun recording new music.

Lala On Her New Reality Show

Lala On Her New Reality Show:
Lala Anthony recently discussed her new reality show "Lala's Full Court Life," in an interview with Vibe Vixen. Mrs. Carmelo Anthony revealed that the show will not shy away from issues affecting the LGBT community--mostly due to Lala's relationship with her cousin.
Anthony says she hopes her cousin's participation can provide a springboard for addressing some of the stress faced by young people wrestling with their sexuality.
"My cousin Dice is a big part of my reality show and what’s important to me about Dice besides, obviously, that being my cousin and one of my best friends, is Dice is dealing with sexuality issues and different things like that," Lala explained. "I think it’s important to see things like that on television because you have a lot of people struggling with who they are and trying to find themselves and worrying about if people aren’t going to accept them, and it’s good that we touch on these issues on the show. I think that can help a lot of people."

Amber Rose Backs Off Marriage Claims

Amber Rose Backs Off Marriage Claims
After proclaiming proudly that she and boyfriend Wiz Khalifa would be getting married in the near future, Amber Rose has backed off slightly in her plans for nuptials. The sexy model reiterated that the two are in love, but told MTV that they're both 'busy' and are waiting for the right time.
"We discuss it all the time; like he said, we're very much in love," Rose told MTV News. "But, ya know, we're just going to take our time and just enjoy each other right now. We're both really busy and we work really hard and when the time comes, it's gonna come."
Everybody thinks they're gonna get married in that early, honeymoon phase, Amber. Wait and see is the best approach to take.

Marc Lamont Hill: Vick gets something rare for ex-cons: A payday after paying debt

THE SIX-YEAR, $100 million contract that Eagles star Michael Vick signed yesterday guarantees that he will be the team's starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.
As an Eagles fan, this move leaves me a little uneasy. Although Vick performed at an MVP level last year, there's still room to question the wisdom of giving him the keys to the franchise based on a single year of excellence. Although it's possible that Vick has truly developed into the mature player and person that we saw last year, there is always the chance of a personal and professional backslide. (Given the Eagles' offensive line and Vick's late-season propensity for hastily exiting the pocket, I'm much more concerned with the latter.)
As a fan of justice, however, I couldn't be happier with the Eagles' decision. More important than money, the Eagles gave Michael Vick something that is increasingly rare in our society: a second chance.
In April 2007, Michael Vick went from national celebrity to international pariah when he was hit with felony charges related to his role in an interstate dogfighting ring. Two years and 18 months in prison later, Vick was back in the league but no longer in the driver's seat of his career.
Many of the same people who cheered his every move now looked upon him with contempt and scorn. The majority of NFL teams refused to even schedule a meeting with him. Countless fans swore to cancel their season tickets if he ended up wearing their home team's uniform.
Like literally millions of Americans, he was an ex-con facing an unforgiving world and an uncertain job market.
For most people who leave American prisons after a felony conviction, the world is even colder than the NFL was for Vick. In addition to public scrutiny, ex-convicts are also the victims of systemic barriers. The task of finding employment in this shaky economy is made infinitely more difficult for former convicts because of the pesky and often unnecessary "Have you ever been convicted of a felony?" question that sits on most job applications. Such a question makes it nearly impossible for a person's slate to be wiped clean after leaving a correctional facility.
In addition to employment, former felons are also systematically denied access to public housing, education loans and, in many states, the right to vote. These conditions, which scholar Michelle Alexander refers to as "The New Jim Crow," reduce former felons to permanent second-class citizens.
So much for paying your debt to society.
But our collective refusal to forgive extends far beyond the walls of prison. Every aspect of society, from schools to social services, has been infiltrated by the logic of "zero tolerance." As a result, we routinely prioritize discipline and punishment over care and forgiveness. As a result, first-time criminals, negligent parents, drug addicts and even misbehaved schoolchildren are subjected to heightened and largely inhumane levels of punishment for their mistakes. In the realm of public opinion, we now want to fire, censure or vote individuals out of office for the slightest mistake, failure or unpopular decision.
Of course, Michael Vick has been spared much of this trouble because of the second chance given to him by the Eagles. In truth, however, this opportunity had less to do with the Eagles' social vision and more to do with his extraordinary talent. After all, it's difficult to imagine players like Vick (or equally embattled star Plaxico Burress) being welcomed back to the league if owners didn't believe that they could earn them money and championships.
This isn't cynicism. This is reality.
I couldn't be happier for Michael Vick. I just can't help but wonder how much better the world would be if we gave everyone the same benefit of the doubt.

Kreayshawn On VMAs Incident

Kreayshawn On VMAs Incident:
Kreayshawn is addressing the story that her and Rick Ross' entourages were involved in a dust-up backstage at the 2011 Video Music Awards. The pop-rapper's manager reportedly was in an altercation with one of Ross' Maybach Music camp during the show.
"Yeah I don't know, man. It's just gang violence," Kreayshawn told Billboard.com "All that gang stuff I'm not a part of that."
Kreayshawn added that, "LMFAO came and they shot this party popper in the air and I thought Rick Ross shot me in the back."

J. Cole Praises Beyonce's Pregnancy

J. Cole Praises Beyonce's Pregnancy:
J. Cole expressed his enthusiasm over Jay-Z and Beyonce's announcement that Bey is expecting her first child. The Roc Nation rapper said he's happy that the couple is representing black people 'correctly.'
Whatever that means...
"Somebody was like 'Beyonce pregnant?!' Then they showed the photo of her, I guess on the carpet with her hands on her stomach showing her baby bump. It was just instant smiles and instant disbelief or whatever but I was just telling somebody it feel like the whole world is having a baby right now. That's how ill it is," Cole said. "Not only are they huge celebrities but I feel like they did it right. They carried themselves in the public light right, they represent black people, right, correctly. So it's like the only thing we've seen like that is Will and Jada [Smith] but even they're a little more relevant to us, like immediately more relevant to our generation at least my generation so that's why it feels so important."

Mack Maine On "Tha Carter IV

Mack Maine On ''Tha Carter IV:''
With so many fans and media expressing disappointment over Lil Wayne's long-awaitedTha Carter IV, it looks like the Young Money camp is already trying to spin things so that it doesn't look like Weezy failed to deliver a satisfying follow-up the successful Tha Carter III.
Mack Maine says that no one expected IV to be III.
"[Wayne] actually told us if he don't do those same numbers again as C3 don't be mad," Mack admitted. "I said this before -- I told Nicki [Minaj] -- she was kinda nervous about her first-week sales -- I said, 'First week sales don't matter.' I'd rather my final sales matter. I know albums from Juvenile 400 Degreez to [Justin] Beiber's first album sold 20, or 30,000 the first-week and went onto sell 2 million one album then 6 million on another album."
"I saw [Lady] Gaga did the 99 cent thing [and] then [her] second-week it did like 175,000," he added. "Congratulation as it relates to her. With Wayne, I don't want him to sell a million the first-week, [and] then drop to 100,000 the next week then 50,00 the following week. I'd rather sell ten times platinum total."

Video: Young Jeezy – “The Real Is Back 2″ (Trailer)

Steve Stoute On Jay-Z Vs. Lil Wayne

Steve Stoute On Jay-Z Vs. Lil Wayne:
Steve Stoute shared his perspective on the slightly one-sided beef between rappers Lil Wayne and Jay-Z. Wayne recently dissed Jay on the track "It's Good" from his new album,Tha Carter IV, and some fans have been waiting to see if and when Jay would respond. But Stoute says that Jay should no longer concern himself with anything as petty as rap beefs.
"For Jay-Z to do ANYTHING that resembles moving backwards right now would be insane," he said. "And a Jay-Z beef is moving backwards. Jay is SO MUCH bigger than rap at this point. He’s a movement. And THAT’S where his head is at. That’s where his focus is. And NO ONE is on his level, even worthy of him battling with. No one. So you probably won’t see that happen."
Jay has yet to speak publicly or on record about Weezy's barbs.

T.I. is being released a month before he was originally scheduled. The rapper was supposed to be released from prison on September 29th.
T.I., born Clifford Harris, entered prison in November 2010 for violating his probation. He has since been updating fans on his status through his website, most recently posting his last open letter before his release.

Kanye's Music Banned In China

Kanye's Music Banned In China
Rapper Kanye West's music has been officially banned from the Internet in China, according to the country's Ministry of Culture department. "E.T.," West's hit single with Katy Perry, has even been barred from personal websites, along with 100 other tracks deemed to be a threat to Chinese culture.
Lady Gaga, The Backstreet Boys, Katy Perry, Beyoncé Knowles, Britney Spears and others were among those banned.
“Certain websites have been allowing users to play, listen to and download the listed songs,” the ministry said in a statement. “Such actions have disturbed the online music market order and endangered national cultural safety.”
Music regulating online began in China two years ago and this is the third time they've banned what the Ministry of Culture deems "tasteless and vulgar."

Rick Ross Being Sued

Rick Ross Being Sued
Rapper Rick Ross is in the middle of a trademark infringement suit over his 2010 albumTeflon Don. Ross is being sued by rapper Donald Askey, Jr.; who goes by the stage name of Teflon Don. Askey claims that Ross and DJ Khaled--along with Universal Music Group, Slip-N-Slide Records, Def Jam Recordings and Maybach Music Group are all guilty of trademark infringement.
The suit officially charges all parties with “trademark infringement, common-law trademark rights, trademark delusion, unfair competition, tortious interference and fraud and identity theft," for using the 'Teflon Don' name. Askey alleges that he worked with Khaled as far back as 2007, and now claims that Ross' use of the moniker has hindered his own success as a recording artist.
"It is almost belittling to me because the music he [Rick Ross] puts out is almost demeaning and the music that I put out is more positive," Askey said. "We have two different crowds and it is making me lose clientele based on the fact that they think that I am a negative rapper.”
"I'm building a name, I'm building a brand and for someone to come with an album and an alias the name Teflon Don and they have big budgets to put behind it, it blocks me from progressing,” he added. “I was climbing the ladder and it feels like I went straight downhill and I don't feel like that's fair."

Soopafly Discusses "Detox"

Soopafly Discusses ''Detox''
Dr. Dre's Detox is still awaiting release, as fans continue to clamor for details on the long-delayed project. Producer Soopafly recently shared that he was back on the fabled project after being fired by Dr. Dre earlier in the recording of the album. Soopfly still had very little specifics to reveal regarding the songs and production on the project, however.
"We just coming in, as far as Snoop Dogg and Tha Dogg Pound, and making sure it got that finishing touch on it," Soopfly said of his work on the album. "It sounds good. I haven’t even personally worked on anything yet. Dre’s a perfectionist, so he takes his time. But, I listened to a lot of stuff [and] it sounds good. That’s all I’ma say."
There is still no official release date for Detox, despite a few singles being released earlier this year. The project has infamously been in the works for over a decade.

Wiz Khalifa Producing Amber's Music?

Wiz Khalifa Producing Amber's Music?
Rapper Wiz Khalifa and model Amber Rose are taking their relationship to the next level. The couple recently revealed that they are working on music together, though they didn't exactly explain in what capacity they are collaborating. But they insist that they will be working together.
“We're working on some music for me, yeah," Rose told Billboard. "It's going to be mysterious," Wiz added. "It's going to be very mysterious," she said. "You may not even know it's me. We might just throw it out there, might give it out and see what's up."
While Wiz confirmed that he's working on his sophomore project, he didn't say whether or not Amber was involved in that particular project. "I'm also working on another album and stuff like that. Just chilling out, having fun, I just got done with touring,” he said.

Kreayshawn Addresses Nude Pics

Kreayshawn Addresses Nude Pics
After tweeting from the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, pop-rapper Kreayshawn found her Twitter account hacked and nude pictures of her--which she revealed were taken when she was underage--were posted on the popular networking site. Kreayshawn herself addressed the issues with her Twitter page.
"My twitter got hacked today by some anti-hollywood extremists," she posted on her blog. "They sent out wack a** tweets and promoted their odd message of anti-jew stuff and deleted my twitter..."
"Oh and they leaked out private photos of me while I was underage," Kreayshawn said. "Real nice guys! Spreading child-porno that\'s cute. VMA's was insane on top of that. Can I s**t man? I ain\'t even mad."

Tyler, the Creator Blasts Bruno Mars

Tyler, the Creator Blasts Bruno Mars
Tyler, the Creator still doesn't like Bruno Mars. The Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All frontman revealed that the is still bad blood--at least on his end--between he and Mars. Tyler admitted as much during an MTV Video Music Awards pre-show.
"I might kill myself," Tyler responded when asked what his reaction would be to Mars beating him in a category. Even after Mars paid tribute to late soul singer Amy Winehouse, Tyler could only give him back-handed praise. "He put on a good performance. But I still hate his f--king music," Tyler said.
It is unclear if there's any kind of personal element to Tyler's contempt for Mars--or if it's just Tyler being Tyler.

Free To Replace Mo'Nique?

Free To Replace Mo'Nique?
Hip Hop Blog has learned from an unnamed source that Free could be replacing Mo'Nique as the host of a BET talk show. "The Mo'Nique Show" was canceled earlier this year, reportedly due to budgetary constraints, and according to the rumor mill, the sexy former host of "106 & Park" may be set to get her shot at hosting.
A person close to the contract negotiations revealed to Hip Hop Blog that talks reportedly became bogged down between Mo'Nique and the network after the Academy Award winner requested that her salary be doubled.
A similar situation occurred years ago when the Source was in talks to relaunch the Source Awards in a partnership with BET. The infamous hip hop brand also pushed for an increase in budget, but was rebuffed by BET when the network chose to focus its finances on launching the BET Hip Hop Awards.

Drake Addresses Wayne's Jay-Z Diss

Drake Addresses Wayne's Jay-Z Diss
The fallout from Lil Wayne's Jay-Z diss continues. Drake was recently asked about his role in the feud--stemming from his appearance on "It's Good," the track featuring Weezy's digs at Jay. Drake says that he has nothing to do with the bad blood, and that Wayne's lines were added after his.
"I just got a beat and did a verse over it," Drake told MTV News. "Whatever any other individual has to say, you have to ask the man himself. I just did what I know how to do. I just got on a record. I heard the beat, did a verse and heard the final product...At the end of the day, rap is an individual art -- You express yourself and whatever you wanna say, you say it, so I guess that's a question for Wayne more than me."
Everybody seems to be distancing themselves from the simmering beef between Wayne and Jay. Although, up to this point, Jay-Z hasn't even addressed the issue.

Nicki, Lady Gaga, Beyonce Wow At VMAs

Nicki, Lady Gaga, Beyonce Wow At VMAs
The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards once again proved that this is an awards show where the awards almost-always take a backseat to shock value and surprises. On a night when pop superstar Katy Perry took home the award for Video of the Year, and Young Money sex symbol Nicki Minaj netted the Best Rap Video Award, the night will best be remembered for weird outfits and one surprising announcement.
Minaj showed up wearing one of the most elaborate outfits in recent awards show history, but even she was trumped by Lady Gaga--who spent the entire night dressed in drag, oddly-resembling Ralph Macchio's character Pony Boy from the movie The Outsiders. In another strange turn of events, Britney Spears was presented with the Vanguard Award at the ripe old age of 29. R&B star Chris Brown gave an eye-popping performance of his hit "Beautiful People," while Adele's performance of "Someone Like You" with a simple piano accompaniment was the night's classiest performance.
Fans were also treated to Tyler, the Creator's mother jubilant reaction to her son winning Best New Artist.
But much of the night's thunder was stolen by megastar Beyonce--and not just because of her stellar performance of "Love On Top."
Bey revealed that she and hubby Jay-Z are expecting their first child together, much to the surprise and delight of fans.
There were several awkward moments; including Will Ferrell, Jack Black and Seth Rogen in an unfunny Beastie Boys sketch and Katy Perry's playful-but-somewhat awkward dig at Kanye West. "Now this is a time where you want to interrupt me, Kanye," she said, referencing West's infamous bum-rushing of Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs.

Beyonce & Jay-Z Expecting

Beyonce & Jay-Z Expecting
Beyonce revealed that she and Jay-Z are expecting their first child together, upstaging pretty much everything else that happened at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. The singer showcased her baby bump while walking the black (not red) carpet before the show began and after performing "Love On Top," she unbuttoned her sparkly jacket and rubbed her belly with a grin. The camera then cut to Jay-Z and buddy Kanye West cheering enthusiastically.
"I'm free!" Beyonce reportedly said to well-wishers backstage. "We're all free!" There were numerous notables there to congratulate the happy couple. "That was an eventful night, to say the least," Jay-Z added.
It is unclear how long Beyonce and Jay have been expecting. The couple got married in 2008.

Game Has No Problem With 50 Cent

Game Has No Problem With 50 Cent
Game has revealed that he no longer bears any ill will towards 50 Cent. The former G-Unit cohorts have feuded repeatedly over the last several years, with Game alternately insulting, praising and attempting to reconcile with 50. For his part, 50 Cent has remained cold and indifferent towards Game as of late.
But that hasn't stopped Game from wanting to work with him, apparently.
“I recorded a couple of songs and I had him in mind. It’s nothing but love with him. I might shoot a shot or crack a joke here or there, but that was then,” Game said of his relationship with 50 Cent.
Game seems like a jilted girlfriend who can't just move on...

Wale Defends Rick Ross' Image

Wale Defends Rick Ross' Image
Wale stood up for the credibility of his Maybach Music cohort, Rick Ross. The D.C. rapper chastised those that can't see past Ross' past as a corrections officer and who brand the self-proclaimed 'Boss' a phony. Wale says that he's seen both sides of Ross' persona since the two have begun working together.
"That dude is a genius," Wale said, referring to Ross. "I don't care what anybody say. That's my brother. He's a genius. I've seen him work from the business side, I've seen him work on the street side. People don't know Ross, man. They think, 'Oh, C.O.' I know C.O.s, dog. The dude's gettin' the money doing that other thing. I know that! We come from that. I'm not by any means a trap dude, but I know that. My best friend doin' six, got six left to do...That's what the most important thing is: Someone that you can look them in the eye and say, 'I put my heart and soul into this album. I want you to put it out-- as is.' I never had that luxury."
"With my previous situation, people wanted the luxury to say, 'But you didn't do this, but you didn't do that,'" continued Wale. "They tell me 10 things, and I do nine of them, and when their plan didn't work, they blame it on the one thing I didn't do."

Amber Rose Hacked?

Amber Rose Hacked?
Amber Rose became the latest celeb to be victimized by Twitter hacking. The vixen's account on the popular networking site was invaded by an imposter this weekend, who sent out malicious tweets indicating that she and her current boyfriend Wiz Khalifa were experiencing relationship problems.
"@RealWizKhalifa f*ck you you b*tch a** n*gga ! Its over. U aint sh*t, just like that @kanyewest b*tch a** ! #n*ggasaintsh*t #backtogirls4me," one of the phony tweets read. "I'm COMPLETELY done with MEN!!!!!!"
As soon as Rose discovered the tweets, she notified her followers that she was not the one sending the angry messages.
"OMG! Someone Hacked my twitter!!! Changing password now Sorry Rosebuds," she tweeted.

Jay-Z Responds To Lil Wayne's Diss? Video

Jay-Z Responds To Lil Wayne's "Its Good" Diss
Did Jay-Z finally fire back at Lil Wayne for his diss against him and Beyonce on a new track?
It sure SOUNDS that way.
As previously reported Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV album leaked and included the track"Its Good" featuring Jadakiss and Drake.
On it, Weezy goes at Jigga man and his wife less than subliminally saying,
"Talkin bout baby money/I got yo baby money/kidnap yo b*tch I'll get that how much you love your lady money..."
So what's Hov's response?
The rapper was a guest on DJ Greenlantern's Invasion Radio show last night and finally fired back.

"And then I want to do an album that is completely meditation music," he added. "It's going to be like a little project. It won't just be for people who like to sleep to it, meditate or are into yoga. It'll be like even if you weren't into all that, you'll be listening to it and thinking: 'Man this is dope, yeah!'"

The Dream On His Divorce

The-Dream On His Divorce:
The-Dream claims that his highly-publicized divorce from actress/singer Christina Milian had a profound effect on his music. Never known for being the deepest songwriter, he says that the pain fueled his art and gave his sound more emotion and range.
"It’s just allowed me to be more real," he says. "I’d rather be the bad guy than anybody else be the bad girl because I can handle it. It’s a bad thing that two people can break up, but the truth of the matter is that it happens all the time for different reasons. But what’s wrong with a public breakup is that they never really know the truth. And I won’t be the person who says it. I’m not going to be that type. If something breaks, it’s not something to celebrate.”
The singer-songwriter also addressed having suicidal thoughts following the end of his marriage.
“I think it was just how my mind works," he revealed. "You have so many things rushing through your mind and I was trying to figure out how to make it stop. It’s easy to look at someone and say there’s 80,000 different ways for you to deal with it. No. Maybe for you, but me having to one, be in control of every aspect of my life and two, loving people how I do and being so thoughtful… when certain things are out of control, if it’s the type of personality that I have, you start to lean towards the best way to make it end. Like what stops this for not only me, but everyone?”

Common has been hard at work on his upcoming Warner Bros debut album entitled The Dreamer, The Believer. The project is due November 22nd and features production work by Common's longtime collaborator No ID. The rapper shared that he feels the record will provide some positivity for hip hop fans.
"It's going to be positive hip-hop. Hip-hop that can really generate good spirit, the spirit of the music and just good energy," he said. "I'm excited about the album. I feel blessed that I got to work with No I.D. I'm enthused to do hip-hop, which is something that I have to do when I feel it."
"It's the spirit and energy of hip-hop that made you just enjoy it and love the music and not feel like, 'Man, is this gonna sell?' or 'I sold this many.' It's stuff that made you feel something, it's stuff that you can use that inspired your life. I think about hip-hop like Brand Nubian and KRS-One and N.W.A. and Rakim, that stuff inspired my life. Those things really shaped who I am."

Pill Explains His Maybach Music Deal
Atlanta rapper Pill has seen his profile raised since he joined Rick Ross' Maybach Music imprint. The rapper recently released his mixtape "The Diagnosis," and shared what his approach will be going forward now that he's affiliated with a major label.
"Its just basically me doing my same type of music with just a bigger look and a bigger stamp," Pill told AllHipHop. "Being that Ross got me over at Maybach Music, it's an all around good look and he just wants you to do you. Make sure you put out your music and he can give any type of input that he may feel that you may need, and he don't stop me from trying to do the type of music that I want to put out. I just continue to put out the type of music that I want to put out and that got me signed."
Pill also explained the track "Scotty Pippen, Tim Duncan."
"It just was basically trying to come up with some slang, as a reference to the trap like doing numbers or being numbers," he said. "Something besides going ham, because it seems as if everyone been going ham.... really hard, I was like ' well let me come out with something else right now'. So hopefully that will catch on just as much as the other one did too, but this time I will be credited."

Lil Boosie On 23 Hour Lockdown
Connie Hatch, mother of incarcerated rapper Lil Boosie shared several details about her son's current situation in a recent interview. Boosie is incarcerated on drug and weapons possession charges while facing first degree murder charges for his alleged role in a murder-for-hire plot. Boosie, born Torrence Hatch, is also accused of smuggling codeine into two Louisiana prisons.
Boosie is on 23 hour lockdown until December of this year and he has been since June. He's not allowed to have contact with anyone except his legal counsel. Boosie's mother also revealed that no rappers have visited Hatch since he's been in prison.
“No. Not one. Not one rapper. The only person I have spoken with is Young Jeezy,” Ms Hatch told OnWaxMagazine. “I heard from him but he hasn’t done anything as of yet. But the rest of them, you hear from them, but when you call them, they know my number so they don’t respond. My child was not like that. He gave to everybody.”
Ms. Hatch also blasted Boosie's Trill Entertainment label mates Webbie, Foxx and Lil Phat. She says that she and her son haven't seen any money from the label, despite "Free Lil Boosie" parties being thrown under the pretenses of raising money for the rapper's defense.
"We haven’t reaped any money from any Free Boosie Concerts," Ms Hatch said. "Not any. Not even his children. They have people thinking that this concert is being sponsored to help Torrance. I contacted them about nine months ago and one of the guys told me it’s not true. But I found out because I received flyers from people in different states."
